Running Skirts (Read 1660 times)

Spankies and Bodyglide fix chaffing. Running more just makes you look better in the skirt.

    I'm touching your pants.

Ah, okay. Like what Rafael Nadal wears. MTA: I think we call those knickers around here.
So some folks are now running in their tennis clothes and their golf clothes? What's next? Bowling shirts and bike shoes?

I've never used Bodyglide, but I think I'll check it out. It would be nice to not have to wear the capris for my long runs.

I saw a guy at a local 5k race on Saturday who ran in cargo shorts. He came in 4th!

For me the skirt leads to chaffing. Maybe I don't run enough. Confused I need to work on that.
For me regular running shorts lead to chafing (fabric bunching-up between my chubby inner thighs = lotsa friction = bleeding skin). The least chafing is in skirts with briefs/bumhuggers and Body Glide. The skirt is for modesty, since there is no way this flabby ass will see the light of day in bumhuggers alone. I'm working on trying to find compression shorts that don't creep up. Found some PI ones with leg-grippers like cycling shorts have (minus chamois)...hope I have some luck with those, since even skirts and Body Glide lead to chafing after a HM or so. I love how so many like to knock skirts without really finding out WHY so many of us prefer them. For a lot of us it's about comfort. I'm 35...I long ago gave up giving a rat's ass about fashion. But I do like running without being in pain or bleeding unnecessarily. I used to wear shorts, too...until my runs got longer than 5 miles and they were no longer comfortable.

I like to think of them as more of a cheerleader type skirt not a tennis skirt. Why? IDK.

I ran with a guy when it was below freezing one night. He wore levi's and a black leather jacket. He never missed a step.

Yeah, tennis skirts have ball pockets/dimples.

Ah, and yes, I hated running skirts until I tried them.

I do like this one, the shorts part of it look longer than the usual skirt which helps eliminate chaffing, and the skirt part is nice for being modest. I'd wear this. Smile

I think Nike makes one that has longer shorts, too...or it might have been another major manufacturer, but Nike sticks in my head. If they don't creep up it's a good option. I think SkirtSports also makes some skirts that don't have any sort of liner, so you can put them over any bottom of your choice. Nice if you are into running and cycling--you could put spankies or compression shorts under for running or chamois shorts under for bike rides.

Capri Pants ("capris") are a style of pants usually worn in warm weather. They are designed to end mid-calf or just below the calf. More recently, the length of the pants has been shortened to just below the knee in some designs. Though capri pants are most popular with women, they have become popular among men in many countries, especially Europe. Although they have recently begun to be worn by young and middle-aged men in urban areas of the United States, they remain largely unpopular there. They are still primarily worn by women in the U.S. Like the ones I'm wearing in my avatar.
Now you're getting too controversial!! Down with manpris!
