Somebody needs to try this one for the team.

No one is drinking anymore?  Well, I am:

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt

Since running Monkey has turned me into a fatass boozebag, I suppose I should bump the beer thread. I hate the winter, but really like stout.

Founders Breakfast Stout is awesome. I think I could actually drink it for breakfast. I drank a Yeti Imperial Stout from Great Divide this afternoon. Pretty good, but needs some time to come together. This new found fascination with highly praised Stouts has me searching for beer that isn't distributed to MA. Who the hell doesn't distribute to Massachusetts, haven't they heard that we are the drunkest city in America!

Damn you 3 Floyds (Dark Lord), Surly (Darkness), Deschutes (Abyss) and Bells (Expedition). Get with the program!!

It just so happens I'm drinking a Wolavers Oatmeal Stout from Otter Creek (final stop on the Tour de Vermont in 2011. True story.

any good? I highly recommend the Founders if you can find it. It's seasonal but should be out for another month or so.

I also enjoyed the Sam Adams Merry Mischief Gingerbread Stout. Comes in a 22oz bottle and is limited. I think they only brewed one batch.

Wolavers is VERY good. I hadn't seen it locally and then found it ad Redstone Liquors in Stoneham. Jackpot.

I will try to find Founders.

Dark Lord is pretty hard to get, but worth it. They have it available once a year and you have to get a ticket to Dark Lord Day to buy any.

Here's a couple more to add to you list.

Dark Truth Stout - Boulevard Brewing

Ten FIDY - Oskar Blues Brewery

Brass Knuckles - Barley Island Brewing

Brought home a birthday beer for the missus last night, or actually three of them. Finished a bottle of Duchesse de Bourgogne, now we've got a Rodenbach Grand Cru 2009 on deck, and a small bottle of Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour to try out. I'm really burned out on hoppy beer right now, and these Flemish ales are just the ticket.

Thanks for the recommendations!! I'll have to be on the lookout. I'm pretty sure I saw the Ten FIDY at my local store. I'm going back on Monday to get some Founders Imperial Stout so I'll grab some if they do.

Never pass TenFidy without taking some home. Damn good stuff. The Founders is also stellar. Add to the list SweetWater Happy Ending and Goose Island Bourbon County Stout if you can find them.

Dark Lord. Um yeah. Don't bother. The tickets to buy the beer sell out in seconds via a flakey website, and then you have to pick up your allocation onsite at the brewery at the allotted time. It is harder than hard to get. Tho I did get a 4 pack in 2011 and will try again this year, given that I know a fella who lives near the brewery and can pick up for me. If you actually do get the stuff, it is kinda over the top meh. A1 said it tasted like vodka and vanilla syrup. Add in a bit of motor oil and that about gets it.

just cracked a 4 of Sierra's new Narwahl.   similar as a russian imp stout, but very drinkable.  its a pg-13 version of this style, making it a great "gateway" beer.  lower viscosity than the tenfidy, you can actually pour the whole thing into a glass in one sitting.
