BEER ME (Read 2905 times)

I'm going out for about 15 this morning myself.  I was out by the time you posted this.  Between getting up at 4:30 yesterday and the 5 Weyerbachers I was done.  Got a good night's sleep though.

Five drinks and still got the 16-miler in, just a little later than planned and on the TM as I wussed out on the cold wind.  Not bad.  Solid run (13@6:42 then accelerated up to 11mph over the last 3 miles).  Earned another beer with that one.

Yeah, I didn't get out until a little after 10 myself.  That's one good thing about winter.  You don't have to get your ass out of bed early in the weekends in order to beat the heat.

There is a long dark road ahead of me.

I took Mrs. PH to the Bethlehem Brew Works for dinner tonight.  Sampled some beer of course.  Spring must be near, because I was really into the Belgian Wit.  They had growlers on the cheap so I couldn't resist bringing a growler of oatmeal stout home.  I guess I know what I am doing tomorrow.  I also brought home a corked and caged bottle of Insidious, an imperial stout.  I'm saving that sucker for next winter.

We need to talk about beer more in this hell hole.  I'll start.  Weyerbacher's latest seasonal has just been bottled.  I will be picking some up this weekend.  Slam Dunkel, baby.

Straight Arrow (by New Belgium I think) is back on the market.  Yummy.

The tangents are moot. Set the bar low. Crawl under it.

            Yeah, I tied Dobblebock.

Somehow I STOPPED losing weight when I cut out the beer for a few days.  Coincidence?  I think not.

So I'm out beer shopping this evening.  I don't know what I want, so I ask the guy to recommend something.  He asks me if I tried their variety packs.  Evidently there is a distributor that throws a 12 pack together just for this place.  You don't know what is in there until you get home.  I never know what the hell those things were because the box is generically labeled.

I opened it up and there were beers from Flying Dog, Lancaster, Troeggs, Yards, Dogfish (1 Raison), and Smuttynose.  There were some pale ales, winter warmers, and porters in there mostly.  All for just 10 bucks.

Oh, and this gem was in there, too.  I'll be getting more of these.

                Hometown AG win.

                  He's a tasty little fellow.

                  $10 for a half case?

                  Wow.

There's nothing lame about getting good beer on the cheap.

OK.  Sampled a few this evening.  Here is the run down.  Some were in that sampler and some were not.

Boulder Flashback India Brown Ale - Good stuff.  A hoppy brown ale.  This rivals DF Indian Brown Ale.

Flying Dog Road Dog Porter - Not impressed.  It's a porter.  I drank it.  That's about it.

Riverhorse Double Wit - Not a wit for the faint of heart.  This has a kick.  Yummy.

Smuttynose Winter Ale - Very good winter warmer.

Flying Dog K9 Cruiser - Winter ale.  Very good.  Similar to the Smuttynose.

                        We've Got Big Hills

I remember when I used to drink.  And run.

                          Sheesh.

                          And: $10?  Not bad.

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

                          Poor baby

Yeah but I skipped yoga today.  Laying off the stretching and massaging a bit with this GDDMN ass / hamstring crap I got going.   Cover your eyes, because I am popping some Advil to see if that knocks it out.

And right now I am having a Troeggs Porter.   They like hops.  Not bad.

And yes, the $10 deal rules. Now that I know what the deal is I'll be getting me more of those surprise packs.

A couple of more beers and maybe I can type like Candice.  I'm better than Ennay already, me thinks.

                            On On

Haven't replied to this thread in awhile.

$10, a great deal if there is quality brew inside.

I am having a Victory Storm King tonight.  Perfect beer right before you are supposed to do anything important (10.5% alcohol)
