Ennay, I would argue the opposite, in fact, I would argue that

    apple whiskey = appletini2

Thumbs up...I think if there's one thing me and Mikey Mike can agree on it's beer.

Well I'd say there's more than one thing.  Most of your bourbon suggestions have met with my seal of approval.  And your band has been described as Punk so there's that.  Plus don't we both live in states that refer to themselves as commonwealths?

          Anyway happy weekend, swampers.

Oh, i assume we can agree on much more than that, but one area where we see eye to eye almost entirely is beer. MMMMMMMMMM...beer. Think I'll have one on my way to work.

Except the dumb Harpoon wintery mix 12-pack only had 2 of those Chocolate Stouts and they were so good I'm halfway through the 2nd one already.

              So sad.

I get to have a Harpoon in two and a half weeks.  Smile

Damn.  I had a Riverhorse Oatmeal Stout with dinner tonight.  That was good.

There is a long dark road ahead of me.

Where does someone in Nashville find one of these fine chocolaty brews? If one were in Nashville?

My latest favorite is Rogue Mocha Porter....and I "always" have Guinness in the fridge, just in case. But man that Chocolate Stout will be something I will be searching for!

So the original rating I think depends on seasons.

                        Right now:

                        1.Rogue Mocha Porter

                        2.Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter

                        3. Smuttynose Robust Porter.

Runner up for the cold months...Guinness

                        Warmer months:

                        1. Most IPA's but i'll pick Smuttynose IPA

                        2. Widmer Broken Halo IPA

                        3. Wachusett Pale Ale

Runner Up...Tecate on a hot summer night.

Drinking some Polar lemon water right now after a 6 miler on the mill....but a beer is not far from my lips ;-)

                        Life is short, play hard!

Checking it late to the game here but I'm enjoying a Great Lakes seasonal tonight - Conway's Irish Ale

Great Lakes is just a few miles from where I'm at. While it's kind of nice to know that the brew has traveled only a few miles down the road, I'm not enthused with the price increase

Count me as a fan of the lower midwest craft beer with Bell's, Three Floyds, and New Holland circulating nearby

Steve - I noticed the Smuttynose stocked in our grocery store. With your endorsement I will give it a try

                            mileage hound

Two more of the cursed free Bud Lights tonight.  It's the Groundhog Day case, I should have finished it days ago but it refills overnight.

Time to switch to scotch.  Should make for a great long run in the morning.

I'm not a scotch girl, but I really like Lagavulin.  Very peaty and smokey.

I like a good smokey beer too.  The German rauchbiers (like Schlenkerla) are good in moderation.  O'Fallons makes a great smoked porter.  Alaskan Brewery does too, except I can't get my hands on it around here.
