MTA I won first master here last year (even though there was a master guy ahead of me; evidently 2OA award trumped 1st master award -- I won't complain). That will be a challenge this year, looking at the lineup. I'm not going to push it past ~3:57 - 3:58.
Training run for CIM, yeah, kind of a weird way to train, but hey, I do have 22 scheduled in the Pfitzinger plan. Longer is better, right?

Meh....okay, I'll post an A. B. C. goal here. I'm totally freaking out right now.
A. Run sub 3. It's been too damn long since I have. Haven't run a sub 3 since 2009.
B. Run a PR. PR is 2:58:00 and let's face it, I ain't getting any younger here. I know I'm in 2:58 shape...and since this really isn't my "goal" race, I just would love to escape here injury free and with a new PR under my belt. Need to save the real effort for Monkey.
C. Run under 2:55. Let's face it, if I'm half the marathoner that MikeyMike is, I should be able to do this with my current fitness level and not leave 100% of my soul out there on the course. That's what I'd really like, run a <2:55 and be ready to bash heads at the Monkey.
Anything over 3 hrs is a total fail at this point.
Thunder smash!
run a <2:55 and be ready to "bash" heads at the Monkey.
Hey now
Good luck
Hey now Good luck
Luck has nothing to do with anything.
10/27, Great Bay 5k, sub-17.
I realize there is not a whole lot on my recent training and racing resume that backs this up. Like, at all. But my race times are on the right trajectory. Plus you just never fucking know. Sometimes you have to swing hard in case you hit it.
This date has been circled on the calendar since June 17th when I ran Brendan's Home Run 5k. I told myself that day that if I broke 18 there, then I'd give it an honest go at sub-17 this fall. When I ran 18 flat I said, "close enough" and I looked for a fast 5k in late October. And here we are. Time flies. I don't feel ready. But I feel like I've worked hard enough and come far enough that I have to take a shot. And really I'm just thankful, given where I was 6 months ago, to be in a place where I can even consider going after something like this. So here goes.
Runners run.

Nice!
MTA, it took me three frickin tries to modify that goddamn html on my twittle iPhone. It wasn't even worth adding the MTA by that point...

I'm just a couple of weeks off a minor hamstring injury, so I'll say <20.
It should be mathematical, but it's not.
Hi, just joined the group. Started the year with a 1000 mile goal, now 2000 is within reach.
Low key weekend, there is a 5k "on tap" for Saturday at the October Beer Fest 5k. Goal is to not overdo it (< 20 min and 2-3 beers, unless I have a driver, then < 5 minutes).
