I propose a new 9-ball category for the very rare, outstanding performance that still somehow falls short of a runners self-expectations.
Well the 8-ball rules are up to whomever is is awarding it. I got it once for Western States after missing my 24-hour goal by three hours, a much less praiseworthy accomplishment than WG's.

Classically, however, achieving your stated goal is a basic requirement, no matter how incredible or elite the performance is, although in the end it is indeed up to the ball-giver. Given that requirement, very few were actually still in the running after this week's results came in.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
Runners run.
Back
I wish I hit that 131.
Well put all your wishes in one hand, and poop in the other and see which one fills up first.

Reverting to the ever popular PotatoHead rule book, I have determined that this weeks surprising winner of the imaginary fucking cartoon eightball is none other that the distinguished physician; Trent! Congratulations Monkey Man! Great job making your goal on a bum leg!
I've lost all faith in this system. Ternt Sucks!!! that should make him autoineligible.
Congrats, Trent.

Deb is now in the 5 spot (5 out of 6)
Connie already had a spot
Caroline was at the race and dropped early - She is in the 6 spot with 130.92
Lana Haugberg is in the 7 spot (1st alternate) 129.84
WG is in the 8 spot with 128.??
She will also (Most likely) be in the top 20 or 25 in the world with that perfromance - IMHO if WG doesn't collect and 8 ball this week - You can tie a rope on that 8 ball and shove it up you ass
I'm only a 50-mile ultra runner - I maybe can't relate to the distances she & DB ran this weekend. I've heard it said that that is almost a different sport from 50 & below. Never mind that crap. I just found the preliminary Desert Solstice results (Stripping out the women) Connie Gardner: 132.228 (reigning American record holder) Deb Horn: 131.117 (I'm not sure - maybe she just qualified for Worlds with this race) WG: 128 Charlotte Vasarhelyi 114.777Pam Smith 102.650 That looks close among those three elite females on top.

Sorry Ilene - I did not realize you are the 8-ball giver. I would not direct that kindof language at you - But I will direct it at all the other wankers

Sorry
Screw the swamp rules - I will say I am sorry to Illene - The rest of your have your instructions for the 8-ball
Ehem.
Plus, racing well and getting screwed out of the 8-ball? I mean I think it goes to the very heart of the Swamp ethos. And that's saying a lot, seeing as the Swamp has no heart or ethos. The Swamp hates you. If the Swamp didn't hate you, it would be the Hurtlocker. Be real, son.
My only SFCEB - worthy races, I got screwed outta the damn ball. I am happy with this past race, but it weren't no national-class performance.
Maybe the SFCEB needs age-group awards, eh Ilene?
