Trent you failed so put your swamp singlet on pour petrol over it and light a match whilst someone films you.
dspeer / onionbag well done but if you had the energy left to post after a 50k run you didn't try hard enough
Seriously though I love the pictures. We have to tough it out and Ilene runs along the seaside in California, there is no justice in this world.
I just had mud, rocks and a raw day just above freezing, 1:59:00 for 14.25 miles and came 148th but no idea how many there were in the race. Before you ask no there were'nt 148 in the race and a lot finished behind me.
DNF
In retrospect an awesome idea. What could be smarter than having a tweaked hamstring, a February race and trying to run a 4+ minute PR? I'm such a dumbass.
I did get to meet Road Shuffler for about 2 seconds as he kicked me to the side of the road on the way by.
mr train you are a pain, your words - they make me go insane
they strike my ever-thinking brain like little drops of acid rain
oh, to my life you are a bane; crazy, mixed up, mr train - r2e

I didn't pussy out of this one and am glad. This was a challenging trail race. Very hilly. It was cold at the start, but once you got into the race and into the hills, it was some very fine running weather, There was only a couple of inches of snow, and it really wasn't much of a factor.
I met Flourcity there. I hung around and had a couple of beers afterward. I would have loved to hang out longer but it was too damn cold once you stopped running. This same race is going off in March and I definitely am interested in doing this again.
Time was somewhere under 1:42, which I'm very happy with considering the terrain.
There is a long dark road ahead of me.
Dude. You OK?
I'm fine. At least most of me is. I think I just need to back of the mileage for a bit and avoid hills. I think I did this by running to many hills in the last few months and overstriding on the downhills. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be fine, but I hate to lose whatever progress I've made.
1:42 - Nice on that course, I'd say.
Yeah, hamstrings done like it when you overstride on the downhills. I swear, even though running uphill sucks, it's a great workout and the hammies don't bark.
I'm happy with my time today. They had a 5 mile and 10 mile, so the first loop was more crowded and it was single file in places. There were some decent hills, with switchbacks, etc. I set a goal on the second loop to not walk at all, and I managed, The last mile or so was downhill, and I opened it up a bit. Running down those trails, almost losing it, very uplifting.
Think big picture and keep at it. You can run with those hammies, just need to be careful.
Posting requires little energy. But the run this morning... that was tough.

I wanted a 57-58 minute 10 miler today, but didn't think I was there given the whole lack of speed work over the last 7 months or so. The distance base I've given myself did serve me well, though.
I predicted an actual time of 59-60 minutes, and ran a 59:45, which is my slowest time since 2007.
At mile 9 there were two guys right ahead of me that I'd been chasing down (they spent most of the race with a 5-10 second lead) and I wound up beating them both by 15 seconds or so, which is nice.
I told Erin she'd run 86 minutes, and she ran 1:25:30. So looks like my predictions for my wife were just as good as my prediction for myself.

Given the volume you've put in lately not surprising....but it'll just help you awhile down the road.
2012 goals: Fastest race times since 2006.
What does Tunis make?
MTA: Only one face plant.
That's a very damn low ratio of face plants/hour.
Good job.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
