Wow Trent! Just wow! I had to suffer through sunshine and a perfect day. My hip hurt..a lot...but I am finished and I survived. So I am very happy.
AND I met Dopple Bock and he is wonderful! And my kickass sidekick Dragon showed up to cheer me too. I am one very lucky woman.

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Well it was a small race, only 87 of us, but I finally managed to win my AG, for the first time.(!) Finished the 15k in 58:27, not bad considering the first 3 miles were tough hills. More importantly, I had a great time and made a bunch of new (local) friends.

Congrats again, Ilene! I was so glad I was able to meet up with you.

18:36. Ran the mirst mile in 5:40 and started giving up shortly after that. Gonna think twice about signing up for these winter races next year. They're not nearly as fun.
I knew during my warmup that chances for a PR were nil, there was a soul sucking wind howling along the mighty Merrimack River. Decided holding 6:00 pace would be a reasonable early season goal given the conditions. I was four seconds behind the winner of the 20-29 AG, which was good for fourth in the 40-49 AG. Because the overall winner (16:32) and third overall (17:00) were in 40-49, I moved up to second and got a nice silver medal for my 18:32.
Apparently, 75% of the lead pack has learned to float above the road which greatly lessens impact for the race. Those are my pasty white legs off in the distance just to the right of the curb.

Nice race Dawg. If you're running that fast in February I need to seriously look out for you come spring.
What a great weekend for the swamp (with pictures)!
Tater, I was going to high-tail it down to Morris County to have a beer with you and Flourcity, but there was no way I would have made it in time.
I was also considering scratching my plans altogether and coming to race, but if you caught me trying to race that course on this foot, you would have shoved my face into six feet of snow.
If we don’t try we’ll never know. At least I can find out how good I can be. I can have an answer at the end of the days, and have a hell of a good time with the process. -Desi Davila
Prince of Fatness
I only stayed about a half hour or so after I finished. It was real cold standing around. Ice crystals were forming in the beer.
There is a long dark road ahead of me.

Veronica and I trying this new fad called uh, jogging. I believe it's jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.
I Can Go The Distance
I did not reach my goal of sub 50, did 50:20 (8:07/mi) but I did set a PR for the 10K. Was 7th in 60-64 AG and 689 out of 3847 overall. Not a bad day overall.
