Look out, paulygram is on a break, a new reign of terror has begun!
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

6:30 mpm pace OA
Dammit, Paulgram is on a break and I decide to aim higher!! I have the most miles of anyone on the team and have a silly idea of averaging a 6:30 pace over all three legs combined. This might end up being a shit show!!
I really appreciate that you are aiming higher for me, than for Pauly!
Will that earn me a beer when/if we meet at a race?
Fast is better than long
Have you Ragnar'd before?
To me the challenge is what to do to prepare between legs.
YMMV, I've never done a 12 person team, so it might be better between legs.

What in the Jehu?
Hmm, I found the Ragnar to be ideal; lounge around in the van snacking, then 15 mins before the runner comes to the exchange, jog up and down looking for him, cheering him on as he comes in, then take off on your run all warmed up.
Okay, the midnight version in the freezing cold isn't quite so much fun.
Be sure to have a good headlamp, the desert at night is crazy dark, the truckers are all trying to kill you, and the coyotes circle away from the light.
Have you Ragnar'd before? To me the challenge is what to do to prepare between legs. It's a team thing so I feel I am supposed to and want to cheer for the other runners (so I forget to eat, and am on my legs too much) between legs we typically don't stretch and due to time load into a cramped van and tighten up Then we hop out of the van and try to start at all out speed. YMMV, I've never done a 12 person team, so it might be better between legs.
I've been a part of the ultra division for Great River 2010-2012 (will put a team together again this year) and yes, you're right the key is to eat and drink before each run. On the ultra teams you have to hustle all the time. Getting to the runner on the course and making sure they have what the need, meeting them at the run through and getting to the exchange in time for the next runner to get ready. I never sleep during the event, so the last run can be pure adrenaline turning into a crawl to the exchange.
I was on a 12 person team on 2009 and while it was fun we had so much downtime that we ended up drinking more beer than actually running.
Overall it's stoopid, but then again, so is running...
In it for the long run..

SELFISH, like you.
Hyannis Half Marathon on Sunday. Plan is to use it as a glorified tune-up/workout so 1:25 something.
The weather looks like it may be shitty. Bring it on, I say. I'm fine with running in it but driving in it may be another matter.
2/24, Jones 10-miler, Amherst, MA. Goal? eh...62 minutes maybe. Depends if it snows, and how much.
Scully, BadDawg and Bucci are also running but they wised up and don't post in the swamp.
Runners run.
Looking for a sub-4 total time from you speedsters. Give em hell!

Won the event 3 years ago in 3:23, but not in that good of shape right now. had i run this event instead of marathon last year, would probably had goal around 3:19, but alas, kinda just dicked around for a month after a trail 54K back in mid December.
This one is on the roads. half, full, and 50K all start together so should have lots of company and people to draft off til half splits off at mile 10. slightly hilly course, but weather looks good. bonking and not breaking 3:45 is well within the realm of possibliites. If some of the fast people in town pick the other events, a win is also not out of the quesiton, we'll see.
