      Alex Hoag Run for Sunshine 5k - July 16th.

       

      As long as everything feels good this week I'll be running. Guess goal is sub 20, but hard to know exactly where exactly my fitness stands. 

      They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that. "If I am still standing at the end of the race, hit me with a Board and knock me down, because that means I didn't run hard enough" If a lot of people gripped a knife and fork the way they do a golf club, they'd starve to death. "Don't fear moving slowly forward...fear standing still."

        Wed, Be lazy and skip Annapolis track series (sorry Q)

        Sat, race mile, guess I'll shoot for 5:10 or better

        Sun, run 50K with goal to complete, A+ goal to do another (9mi) loop afterward

        It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

          Kayak around various buoys in the bay, then tag team member to run, when teammate gets back, run a 5k, when done, launch teammate in her kayak.   

           

          After the beach BBQ and kayak practice this weekend I am thoroughly sunburnt.  Sad   I may do this event in a burkha.

            Honestly i'd be pretty happy\surprised with a sub 19, but the true goal here is a shiny new PR on what is shaping up to be the hottest day of the year.

               Man, what a slacker Wink. Anybody can run a whole track meet, followed up with another mile PR, and then a 50K, and then another 9+ miles after that.

                  Thursday Night Race. I don't like night races usually because I don't eat right. I am going to try to get it right this time! I am not adjusting my training schedule for this race either so I will be heading into it unrested. If I can pull of 41xx I will be quite happy.

                                Even in the face of a heat advisory we had as many people show up as usual. I succeeded in pacing DW to 5:40. Which also meant I could copy & paste lap & split times from her row to my row, when typing up the results, instead of typing in yet another set of numbers to Excel (to get lap times from split times).  Moral: Should make everyone in the race buddy up and run exactly same as someone next to them, to cut in half amount of work involved in typing results.

                                It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
