I'll miss 2000 by just a day or two of DB running because I was too busy riding my bike and swimming this summer. I understand there are no transfer credits from those frivolous pastimes.

I do not know what the culture was like before the Coolrunning immigration - I really like the culture now, but some forms evolution are OK - I am hoping we avoid revolution. On the other hand if this migration benefits our creator - I am happy about that.
Althoug we may grow to the size where the best benefit comes from selling us to a master that we do not want to have.

My bet is that most of the new culture won't stick around here forever. This isn't exactly like the coolrunning invasion. They are here for 2 1/2 reasons.
The half: RWOL is killing off their running log in favor of a new one. But unlike active shitting on the coolrunning log, they aren't losing everyone's data. So some folks are here to find a new log. But that won't be enough to get the whole community culture here. A lot of them will use this log but keep their community wherever.
Real reasons:
1. RWOL is having a bad spam problem. This has been a periodic problem for a year or so. If they fix it, those folks might go back. If they don't fix it, oops.
2. RWOL just shipped a new site with a very different message board that kind of sucks. But it is like any upgrade. People moan about it... and in this case, they did do a lot of dumbass UI things... and then they get used to it and nobody really cares much after a few weeks.
Also, Runnersworld did this to themselves. This is unlike Evil Active shitting all over coolrunning exactly.
I think most folks will stick it out in the other place. But some will stay. They are nice folks, except for a couple dipshits. Just like anywhere.
