I'm so sick of winter! Schnider how do you do it in Minesota?
We had 47.5 inches this year and we are getting another 8-10 today so we are going to break the previous record set back in 1886. The worst part about this is that the only place in push the snow is on the side walks or bike lanes. I'm having a tough time staying motivated to train for Boston.
God must be punishing Iowa for obesity caused by high fructose CORN syrup and CORN chips!

Exactly, since you made the rest of america fat, you must also be fat.

Ben has left the swamp for a little while. But as his roommate, i'll tell you how he does it. He sucks it up, and he wears wind boxers. I suck it up and complain when I get back. Then sometimes we complain together, later. Minnesota effing sucks right now.
I feel you on them pushing the snow into the paths...it's my daily complaint. What can we do though?
Don't lose your motivation...everyone's looking forward to seeing how you do at Boston. I know we've talked about it anyway.
Makes you tougher, right? Mentally anyway. I'll take 90F in Tennessee in August over this. Piece of cake.
Effing snow. It's pretty sometimes, but it sucks.

I am waiting for some good pics of the many feet of snow in the Northeast. I have seen nary any, and I am beginning to think the whole thing is made up.
here ya go:
I fly.
I can top that. We got well over 2 feet this weekend and we are expected to get another 12-18 inches thursday. Did I mention we had no power for most of Saturday?
My street is now a 1 lane road and there is no way that I can safely run outside anywhere but on the beach... so tomorrow I'm going to try to get a long run in on the beach.
For your viewing pleasure...
sadly no. I am very anti-picture-taking right now. those were stolen from a friend.
Jill - craziness! I hope you got your power back by now! Pittsburgh still has thousands of ppl without power - and the National Guard just rolled in to "rescue" people and take them to warming shelters... I don't understand why the roads still aren't plowed though.
And another one...
Our power came back, but then some moron hit a utility pole and 1/2 the neighborhood lost it. I live down at the Jersey shore, which doesn't usually get very much snow, so they don't exactly know how to plow here. Thank goodness I drive a honking huge SUV these days. And since I grew up and lived in snowy areas most of my life I actually know what to do if I should spin out, I'm okay.
But the snow means that I am screwed for my marathons...
