Too much snow and ice! (Read 746 times)

we are up to 30 inches and it is still coming down...  What I don't get is that Pitt has been closed the last 3 days - but today, they are open and expect us to get to work. How is today any different than the past 3 days? The roads still aren't plowed...

מה נשתנה, הלילה הזה מכל הלילות

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

      Poor baby

yo this is America! Speak freakin' English.

I said, "why is this night different from all other nights".  I was gently mocking you.  In Hebrew.

i've been mocked in many languages, but never in Hebrew. Doesn't the Torah have something to say about that?

              Prince of Fatness

It's a mess here this morning but at least the sun is out.  Thankfully the plows went through early enough last night that I didn't have to dig the bottom of the driveway out early this morning.

Finding a clear place to run later this afternoon is another story.

There is a long dark road ahead of me.

I'm sure it does. But the quote I provided was not from Torah.

Nice backyard, Joe.   Reminds me of the Navesink and the houses I couldn't afford when I lived in Middletown....
I ran a mile and I liked it, liked it, liked it.

Thanks. It's on the Metedeconk River. I wouldn't be able to afford the Navesink either.

Not nearly enough weather talk here lately.  We are supposed to get another 2 - 4 inches of snow here tonight.

It was beautiful.... which is it's attempt to make up for how fucking cold it is, I suppose.

I am sure it would get old, but I have enjoyed running in St Paul the past three days... in shorts/2 shirts.  Added a light jacket yesterday due to the snow falling.  I discovered some shoeshoe trails in the woods near I35E and Shepard (basically downtown St Paul) that were AWESOME!  Packed snow trails in the woods... If I were here much, I would totally invest in snowshoes.

An another note, I FINALLY understand the value of Gore-Tex.  I have had a pair of trail running shoes with Gore-Tex for six years in which I had only run about 20 miles... they are just too hot to use in TX.  They are perfect, however, for running on snowcovered river trails!  When you hit that puddle of slush and totally splash the trailing foot, IT STAYS DRY AND WARM!  The only problem is post-holing on the snowshoe trails and getting snow down into the shoes/socks, but that's something that can be overcome...
