Jeff loves pics of the New England race circuit in general, but I felt it was even more important to share these because they are in his old stomping grounds of Amherst, MAIf your eyes are really good, you might be able to pick out Mikey, Drunkass (aka Scully) is easy to spot.
E.J.Greater Lowell Road RunnersCry havoc and let slip the dawgs of war!May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your SPF30, may the rains fall soft upon your sweat-wicking hat, and until you hit the finish line may The Flying Spaghetti Monster hold you in the hollow of His Noodly Appendage.
Thanks for those, BadDawg. Looks perfect. Scully and I need to hook up for a race, but he needs to wait so I can get in shape. How cool would it be to be running 5:40s in a 10 miler and be in a big old pack, road-wide.
I saw Eric Nedeau's name in the results -- is he still the Amherst coach? Back when I was running, he and Rob Mitchell were both shooting to break 4 minutes for the mile.
Just what I need to get me out the door. I have been struggling with motivation of all things.
The Logic of Long Distance
Is that Morgan Freeman in the first pic?
That 1st picture is about where my race went to shit!
Jeff, I ran with Ned at NU for my only year of college running. He's still at Amherst last I heard.
Here's an image of one of the last times I raced in that neck of the woods. Right behind me are Andy Anderson (the guy who just broke the Grand Teton and Longs Peak FKTs) and Shad Miller (long time NE road racer, I think he's injured now but had some winning runs on the Grand Prix scene.)
Jeff, you are welcome to run New Bedford with us next month.
Very cool.
Ha ha, sounds like fun!
With the beard? Yes.
Runners run.
Nashville is "greater" Lowell.
Oh dear God...
See how much "fun" I was having?
Fast is better than long
Is that Paul Ryan in the second pic? (16)

What in the Jehu?
Day in the park, eh?
Looks like some suffering ensued.

Yeah, there was suffering to be had if you wanted it.
I did giggle; well double take then giggle at "Flat Hills" conservation area.
Other interesting points, that Western Mass team looks kinda stout and the senior Grand Master team that had like 4 guys at 1:00.xx. That's a stacked lil race you kids got there.
