My kids were partial to Copacabana. Which of course always led into Lola. Wild Thing was also popular.
My kids always like the theme song to Spiderman.
I know a guy that's training some Masters runners. Ha! Masters. One of them has eight kids. That is a lot.
I tend to agree with Nads and Jeff (the cowbell one) on this: I think you go for the marathon volume with specific workouts for each race. I'm not sure of your 5k training history, but for the 5k I think you need to get specific. And by that, I mean that some of those 5k workouts should be like you are training for a mile. And, if it were me, I would give myself some time between the half and 5k so I could train with a good focus on each distance.
I'll send you the bill.
There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Thanks. Agree that I will probably need to get 5k specific at some point. All of my very near misses at 17 were off of either basic fitness or marathon/half marathon training. If I'm being honest with myself, I've never spent a significant period of time focused specifically on the 5k. Maybe this is the year. But knowing what I need to do and doing it are always two different things.

So in three pages, the collection of coaches have determined that the best way for mikey to run a fast 5k is by training for a 5k. Got it.

Being the stubborn bastard that he is, mikey is still not convinced, mind you. And, as always, the devil is in the details.
Fast is better than long
Agreed, to run a fast 5K, 5K training is not enough, you really need to do fast 5K training so that you can run a fast 5K.
