In the fight between you and the world, back the world. --Kafka The Logic of Long Distance
We've Got Big Hills
My Titans kick it off on Thursday. Yeah baby.
The Titans are part of the reason why Tennessee and Davidson County schools suck. While you were still a baby and the Titans were still Oilers (an apt name in our obese state), a referendum voted to spend state dollars that were to have been earmarked for education to build a stadium to support a team most could not afford to buy tickets to go see. Tourism. Business. Those would lead to increased tax revenues that would trickle down to the schoolrooms, politicos argued.
And today, our schools don't even have textbooks.
And in other news, the nation is suffering from an economic recession.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around Big Sey. I need a few more days to get psyched for the season.
mta: And our schools don't suck.
Tennessee schools sucked long before the Titans came to town. Dumbass.
"Our schools don't even have textbooks." Give me a break.
MTA: Lendale White lost 30 lbs. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
bring it.
well, you can try to, at least.
bring it. well, you can try to, at least.
Labrat, remind me what happened last year when the Steelers and Titans played. I can't seem to remember.
True. Only the schools on the poor part of town don't have textbooks.
So the solution is to spend tax dollars on professional football?
And as soon as Labrat moves to Tennessee to hang with another one, her tune will change.
Here's some light reading for ya, 'rat.
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around Big Sey.
I've drunk the Belichick kool-aid (in addition to the swamp kool-aid) and believe that this is in the best interests of the team. And I remember watching games last year and he didn't appear to be dominating like he used to. A likely top 10 pick (hell, likely top 3) in two years I think is a steal. They're getting younger, which they needed to, and I think they can still be competitive now. They'll patch things up as usual, enough to win 10 games or so and give us all hope. They'll just need to score 40 a game to do it.
mr train you are a pain, your words - they make me go insane
they strike my ever-thinking brain like little drops of acid rain
oh, to my life you are a bane; crazy, mixed up, mr train - r2e
that was obviously just a glitch in the black and gold machine. it's all fixed now.
Trent - we need to discuss my coming down to visit your great institution. how's that working out, huh?
Oh yeah, that guy. From the chatter on the airwaves recently, that dude better not leave the stadium without a few extra-large body guards.
New chapter forthcoming
Time for the relaunch. Stay tuned....

FWIW, my high school did not have football. We played soccer. We also had a laser tag team.
Shocking. I bet there was a pretty active DnD club too, right?
