Troy needs to HTFU and get back in the game...

When I saw how he got hurt I thought he could have been done for the year. Having an 280 pound Tight End fall on your knee and bend it like that usually doesn't t urn out so well.

    The process is the goal.

yeah, i was typing that before they showed the replay. OUCH!

He was flying all over the place though during the first quarter. It could be tragic if he's not ok.

Jeff -  your guys did bring it. That was way too stressful of a game for a home opener. gawd.

Policy Debate is where the cool kids compete.

MTA: My DD used to go to summer camps where she would practice "spreading" by talking with a pen in her mouth, saying words backwards etc. Certainly not nerdy in anyway.

Can't this be dedicated to good ole football trash talk without the policywonks. I think your thread is currently about healthcare or some other heady topic.

That being said - yet another year where the Titans will play second fiddle to Indy in the division.

BTW - I thinks its great the Titans don't age discriminate and have Methusela as the starting QB. AARP would be proud.

Not so fast. Have you seen the topic for high school policy debate for the 2009 - 2010 season?

Resolved: The United States Federal Government, if blocked into the quarterback’s legs or into the ground on the way to the quarterback, continues to run or drives forcefully into the player, should draw a 15-yard unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty and be subject to a fine.

Pat Patriot--does he bring back bad memories of the 85 superbowl?

Most of the 80's really, plus the parts of the 70's I remember as well as the early 90's.  In fact the 85 Superbowl was really the highlight of a Patriots fan's life until about 1995 or so.  Well at least until shortly after kickoff.  Certainly the playoffs leading up to it...the Raiders game when the Pats won and then Matt Millen tried to fight everyone, and then of course the squish the fish game in the AFC Championship.  Ahh good times.

Plus the superbowl shuffle was entertaining, the Bears were unbeatable that year and we were just happy to be there.  I do find it ironic now, though, whenever Mike Ditka talks about sportsmanship and the Patriots running up the score as he did during their 16-0 season...this from the coach who once used a 300 lb lineman as a tailback to carry ball into the endzone en route to a 40 point win.  Ditka's such a tool.  But I digress.

Collins played just fine. It was those young guns that kept dropping balls. Though I'm psyched to see how Britt develops this year. We had more of a passing game last night than at almost any moment last year.

The real travesty was that he did not give the ball to Payton to score a TD. Payton arguably was the face of the Bears for years, a hell of a ball player and seemingly just a great guy. That pretty much made him a tool in my book.

Aren't Collins and Crybaby Manning only a few years apart in age?

4 years is a lifetime for a pro football QB especially one that's now on his fifth team. Perhaps Collins can use a age graded calculator to see how many yards and TDs he would have if he were a bit younger.

Collins years count as 1.5x Manning years.

Anybody else think that Thunder and Kerry kinda look alike?

Its the whole riding the goat thing that creates the confusion.

I doubt Kerry could run a sub 3 marathon ........ unless it were measured in days.

Although in "Kerry time" a 3 hour marathon takes 4:30. So, maybe.
