But can you imagine the level of shit GM Bill Polian would take if they did? He sat them down when they could have been perfect, and let a team make the playoffs that ultimately eliminated them?
Yes. This, along with the underdog factor, the Rex Ryan (I find him entertaining) factor and the Peyton Manning factor is why I've made peace with the fact that the FUCKING JETS went farther in the playoffs than the Patriots did and now I can solidly say that I'm rooting for the J, E, T, S, Jets, Jets, Jets! For this one week only.
It's a long shot, sure, but that's what makes it fun.
And also, Geaux Saints!
the unrunner
wait. what?
the colts somehow made it possible for the jets to get into the playoffs?
no way!
if you don't run, you'll rust. [tom petty] ..... i just wanna get back on track, even if it kills me. [motion city soundtrack] ..... if i only could be running up that hill, with no problems. if only i could, be running up that hill. [kate bush] ..... still running in place [alkaline trio] ..... at least i'll try and run, and run tonight, everything will be alright [the killers] ..... don't give up the distance. [flavio the magnificent]
Heh.
Bring on Brees or Brett "the waffle" Favre.

BTW, whose stupid idea was it to have the Pro Bowl next week? I know no one cared about it after the Super Bowl but are we really supposed to care more when 6-10 of the players are not in it because they have to play the Super Bowl yet?
2012 goals: Fastest race times since 2006.
Well, I think they probably figured (correctly) that we couldn't possibly care less about the pro bowl so best to get it over with before the Super Bowl.
Prediction: This is the year that cements Peyton Manning as the best quarterback of his generation.

Turnovers 5 1
Gave the damn game away. 2 in the redzone, 1 in potential FG range to win it. Gah!
Hail to The Victors!
I stayed up past my bedtime to watch a football game not involving the Patriots again...exciting but weird game. Basically you'd have to say the Saints survived. Minnesota had the better defense but you can't turn it over 5 times and win in the playoffs. I think if the Vikings and Saints played 10 times at a neutral site the Vikes would win 6 and the Saints would win 4. Some of those turnovers were likely the result of some voodoo cooked up by the home crowd.
I guess this is the superbowl most people wanted. Should be high scoring.
This is pretty damn clever. Enjoy
For all the shit Favre gets for his waffling and trying to throw through the eye of a needle - he's no Nancy Boy. He'd probably try to suit up if they amputated a leg at half and still give you a couple of TDs. That earns some serious respect.
To me ironic and sadly poetic how Favre's career will likely end on a throw he never should have made (weird, huh?). After such a great season and all the naysaying, etc, the naysayers were proven right. Doesn't matter that he took them that far if the way it ends is the way everybody said it would end back in August. They could have saved themselves $12 million in the process. Man, did he take a beating, though.
I thought Favre played great. He wasn't the reason they lost that game. He was getting pounded back there. That last throw was bad I guess, but he was trying to make a play to get them in field goal range. If the Vikings had won the coin flip, Favre would be a hero right now and the naysayers would be wrong.
