I got the official answer for you. I was flipping through the channels last night and came across the NFL replay on NFL Network of this game and it happened to be right at this point in the game. They had the VP official Mike Perrira explain what the deal was. He said that it has nothing to do with players getting onside\offside the reason the umpire stood over the ball was to wait for the line judges to get back off the field. They even showed the clip. As soon as the line judges were off the field the umpire backed off the ball they were free to snap it. So the line judges had to come in to spot the ball and then get off the field before it can be snapped. I've never really paid attention to this but what happens in a 2 min drill at the end of a game it seems like it happens a lot faster than this. Anyways it has nothing to do with allowing player time to set-up etc...

Good for New Orleans. To the extent a city can ever deserve a pro sports championship, they deserved this one.
We had brownies and peanut butter graham cracker squares for our SB party with Chimay Bells 2 Heartes and Bitburger beer.

So clearly, all was not lost.
Football is important but pales in comparison to beer and deserts.
If you are going to be in the desert, you may as well have beer.
You know who looks like a total genius right now? Josh McDaniels. Unreal.

Unreal.
Bump.
Nice, Mr H.
The only reason I care, other than the fact that BB must have the unhealthiest coaching tree that ever existed, is that Orton is my Fantasy QB and playoffs start this week. Hell, he may not even be the starter now despite a pro bowl level season.
I think the Denver owner is paying three head coaches currently.
I have Orton and Cutler as the choices on one of my teams. Tough call.
I think they are going to try to get out of paying McDaniels for cause.

It's funny I think about the year Orton is having and if Tebow was even approaching those kind of numbers even in his 3rd year starting, people would be calling him the next Brady\Manning etc..
But it's Orton and he will probably get benched.
Yeah well he gave them a perfect excuse last week with that 5 fantasy point game. I'm lucky to have already wrapped up a bye, so it didn't matter much, but I've got no backup and may have to get Kerry Collins off of waivers.
