Watchung Winter Ultra 50K - hmmm, I DNFed at 21 miles last year so my real goal is to finish. After that let's say 6:30.
Expected temperature at the start is 9 degrees, the trails are a nice mix of slick icy hills and rooty rocky snow covered trails.

Good luck!! Weren't you just there in October when I ran the ToT 13k? How many times a year do you visit the big mouse? How is their marathon? I'm planning to run the Goofy Challenge next year.

Prince of Fatness
Semi-retired.
Enjoy. Are you doing any of the other races in the NJ Trail Series? You guys still meeting up in Ringwood?
I will be at all the NJ Trail Series runs. I am running more at Watchung and Lewis Morris right now.
We visit at least a couple of times per year. This one is just me and the missus. Marathon is fun IMO but it is large and more focused on first timers (LLS Team in Training is the big draw). Nothing wrong with that but if you get caught in the middle of the pack it makes for lots of dodging and ducking. I enjoyed the Goofy challenge. Not hard if you don't race and just run. Going through the parks is nice. Getting up to get to the start line at 3:30 is a downer but hey at least you're done by 9:30.
1/9 100k Bandera 100k Hill Country, Texas Goal: sub 13:30
Love this race. Jill Perry, who had the fastest 100 mile time of 2009 and won the 24 hr National Championship will be racing there. It will be an honor to have my ass kicked by the best.
"Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood." -Daniel Burnham
goofy race and a half challenge
1/9-1/10
sub 6 combined, be able to walk the parks after its over.
Hometown AG win.
1.10. Frigid 5 Miler, Pittsburgh.
If roads are cleared enough: sub 35:00 and no walking, which would be an improvement over last year.
If roads are dicey, have fun.
Eat pancakes afterward either way.
