Ugh, I ran a 1:48 at this race once upon a time. I hate sucking.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?
break'n three
Moose Mountain Marathon (TRAIL). 4:39:06. Oh yeah 1:35 slower than my masters PR but hey it's in the mountains so I'm taking it.
Huh? Didn't you run a 3:00:30 a couple years ago at Fargo? Or were you not masters then?
You are spot on with the time/place, but I was 39 and I still stick with that as my Minnesota PR...I have work to do to get my masters times back down. No road marathons till next year
I know all my friends PR's You'll get it back down. Stupid plantar! (I have it too now..grr)
There are some certified marathons that are pretty easy on the feet
Rails to trails - 100% crushed limestone or softer - Nov 4
http://railstotrailsrace.com/
Whistle Stop - 1 mile at start and 2 miles @ finish on pavement ~ other 23.3 on trails - Crushed limestome or softer - Oct 13
http://www.whistlestopmarathon.com/
Both of these are pretty fast - Whistle Stop looks like it would be screaming fast with 600 feet of elevation drop, but that is offset with some pretty soft trail spots - loose dirt. About mile #13 or 14 it firms up to packed dirt.
Rails to trails - The only goofy thing is going through the 3/4 mile RR tunnel 2x - You have to have a light
Although not on Pavement, I consider both of these as road marathons that I have run.
