+1 the Fall Mohawk Hudson River marathon is on my radar however.
I do like this aspect: "No medals. We have never had medals and we have no plans to add medals. This is a $20.00 event. No Medals!"
Last year everybody got a hat that said "HMRRC Winter Marathon."
The Fun One to do is their Hangover Half, on January 1. Pizza and good soups after it. Plus you get to be on page one for a day or so.
Now, if I can only convince myself again that I like to run.

I did a marathon last August in Cookeville, TN. Hot. Humid. Hilly. 5 loops, through parking lots and access roads with a short bit in a park. Stupid.
Loops were a figure-8, kinda, with the chief aid station at the cross. Five loops, I drank a beer in the middle of each. The beer was NOT low ABV.
Hot damn.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
