Set a man afire and he'll be warm the rest of his life.

    What in the Jehu?

      Indoor mile 4:48.7

You know that equates to a 2:42 marathon right?  You got the speed, time to polish off the endurance.

      2013 Goals:
      Run  trails.

Endurance is the easy part. I can run 100 miles, but I will never run a 2:42. Or a 4:48.

        Fast is better than long

To both flatfooter and bhearn. As I have long touted, speed, I can do.

I will say I am super upping my milage the past few months. That 4:58 was 5 days after a 20 miler and a 36 mile weekend. And this past week I did a 12 x 1 mile workout. As a yute I had seldom done more than 4 miles in workout, and those workout were really just huge numbers of quarters.

I really like my training right now and have an internal goal of 2:50. (well it's external now)

To flats point I need to up the endurance a 20 miler this weekend, but I have to run it after my triathalon Sunday morning Wink

          More unannounced goals:

          • 4:30 mile this season
          • sub 10:00 3000 steeplechase
          • Win the Masters Championships at steeple this fall (August)

***You know that equates to a 2:42 marathon right? So does a 14.1 100m, If the chart (McMillan) were law, I'd just train for the 14.1 100m and pretend I was a 2:42 marathoner Wink

PG - I hear ya and know you are working hard.  Just trying to add a little fuel to the fire Big grin

Bhearn - I may not hit a 4:48 mile (nor do I care if I do), but I am not going to rule out low 2:4X in the marathon.  Never say never, I bet when you first started running, if someone asked if you would ever run 100 miles, it probably would not be the same as today.

That's how I took it and much appreciated.

You've provided the spark for some new dreams of my own.

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt

Half - 1:19:03.  Snake River Half Marathon.  Missed PR by 2 seconds, really wanted a 1:18:XX.  Always next year.

MTA to add the race as I forgot to post on the weekly racing thread.

Half marathon, 1:27:06. Ugh. Nasty, nasty wind.
