Wednesday
Fail on the win - Came in 5th. Best moments of the night were watching my 11 y-o go to work on the six donuts, making a mockery of several of the adult club members' efforts, and seeing him chugging around the mile course with a huge smile on his face afterwards.
Worked way too hard for an 18:18, but at least there were a lot of quick folks out so they kept me honest and I had a good effort. Passed 6 or 7 people in the last mile,..got my sub-6 minute pace goal and was 7th or 8th out of 196. I'll take it.

Fairly disappointing 23:24 (I think), have an excuse, but definitely let a PR chance get away.

H.A.R.T. All Comers Track Meet
1:04.3
Mediocre. Strong wind didn't help but still not a good race as I think I went out too hard or something, started rigging up already before the home straight.
4:50
Given the wind I'm satisfied. Sustained 15-20, gusting close to 30. Not sure how much it affects time but holy hell did it seem hard going into the headwinds. Not sure how much, if at all, it affected me but this bad boy was just 10 min or so after the 100m. Good race overall, though I wasn't out fast enough the first 2 laps as I felt comfortable coming through 800 in 2:40. Ran really strong on the last lap though and had a very solid kick the last 200m giving it absolutely everything I had left. Hurt, but not for long.

<18:25
Raced a 19:27. I think it's combination of not being in shape, it was hot, and a hilly course. Oh well, race again in 2 weeks.

It actually didn't suck. It felt good to go "hard" and clean the pipes out, and this should work as starting point.
Newton 10k on Sunday 6/10
37:39
Doesn't look like a PR course, and I haven't been racing particularly well. But I'm pinning a number on and it's a Grand Prix race so I'm gonna try to race it hard. Goal will be a PR of 37.39 or better, I'll probably blow up but even if I do I know there will be somebody to chase because of the GP field.

Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.
Does hurling disqualify you?

You could always try the marathon, if you want something different. But you'd need to be able to run a lot - at least 30mpw I think.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Blaine Moore (MM#2867)
With as little running as I've been doing almost forgot to come in here. Got a 5k tonight (missed last week's 5k what with the whole bringing the baby home from the hospital and then having to run out and buy pain meds for the missus) No idea what I'll do. I suppose if I can maintain a 6 minute mile I'll be happy. Managed it on Monday while trying to catch up to some folks I wanted to run with, just need to go the extra mile+ and maintain, right? The runs I did 2-3 months ago should count for something towards that.
