My greatest disappointment (Read 392 times)

A Saucy Wench

I flew the whole way to Nashville and was there for 4 days and failed to meet Ileneforward.

I met her but did not know I was meeting her. Missed way too many swampies, and didn't really get to party. Boo.

          I met her.

          It was spectacular.

I finally met her at Boston a couple years ago... but somehow before that, we had already run several races together without meeting. She's elusive.

"Way to make Borat look overdressed"

I met her and got a real life Ilene hug. It was everything I imagined and more.

I met her.  She and mr. forward are just great!  Sadly there were many that I didn't get to meet.

And where the heck was R2E...

MTA:  And I must apologize to llene for repeatedly calling her lene rather than Ilene.  But my brain

almost always reads it as lene on lineConfused

I met her.  Got to sit next to her at Mafioza's.  Really nice woman.  I think she got 4:44 at the monkey.  She mentioned that she was maybe 50 or something and I told her I got 4:4?, when I was about 34.  She is a very classy lady and I hope that some of that rubbed off on me.

                  Not in Chicago

For real question- how does this happen? Everyone finishes in a field and drinks beer together and then goes to mafioza's or whatever. How do people not meet?

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

There are a lot more people than you think. The difference between this year and my first monkey in 08 was striking. Even if you made a list of all the RA'ers you knew were going and wanted to meet and did nothing but try and check off the names on the list, it would be tough. And of course nobody does that and everybody just socializes and you're meeting new people that aren't even on RA etc.

The other thing is with all the fucking sub-groups now it's really hard to know who all's doing what. RA needs to simplify--we need the Swamp and the GSP and get rid of everything else. I just this weekend became alerted to the existence of something called the hurt locker which fashions itself as a hard core version of the swamp that is not trying to be a parody of itself. Like, wtf. Plus there's a masters forum I guess and some other shit.

And in the case of team masshole, we were drunk almost the whole time.

                      I fly.

I met her, (and she's awesome) but I missed out on meeting many swampers.

Guess I'll have to go back and run this nonsense again.  Grumble, grumble.

                        Bring it on.

I know, right?  I was there.  No fucker spoke to me though.

You know how fast I went to search for The Hurt Locker after I read this?  I can't find it.  Obviously, it goes by a different name?

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

Back beat, the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
