Prince of Fatness

So who's everyone rooting for to win the SB?  I'll start.

Jets - Nope.  Can't root for anyone or anything from NY.  Sorry.

Steelers - Nope.  They've won enough SB's.  It's someone else's turn.  I would like to see them beat the Jets so I don't hear all of the NY chatter for two more weeks.

Bears - Nope.  I actually don't have much of the problem with them.  It's that whiner Jay Cutler.  I'll pass.

That leaves the Packers  Yes, they knocked my team out, but they do nothing that pisses me off.  I think it would be pretty cool to see Rodgers step out of Favre's shadow and get a ring.

Congratulations, Mr. Finn, for rooting for the correct team!

        2 things about the Eagles...

        1.  I think they were one of the 3 or 4 best teams in the playoffs.

        2.  Had Vick not gone nuts and made a miracle comeback on the Giants the conversation is different.  Why?  Because if not for that miracle then neither the Packers or Eagles would have even made the playoffs.  It would have been Giants and Buccanears.

all of this proves only 1 thing to me... it's how hot you are in January that matters.  The NFL gets more like the NBA every time they add more playoff spots.  I prefered 3 divisions and 4 playoff teams.  But then my team would never have won SB 45.

Having followed them all year I have to disagree.  Their defense was average at best and the right side of their offensive line (Vick's blind side) was a revolving door.  Vick got the shit beat out of him all year long and it eventually caught up to them.  Take away the last 8 minutes of the Giants game and they really hadn't played all that well since November.

They have a lot of good young players however, so I am encouraged about the next few years.

comming full circle on this thread...

assuming there is a football season.  here are the posted odds for next year.

            Arizona Cardinals 75/1
            Atlanta Falcons 16/1
            Baltimore Ravens 14/1
            Buffalo Bills 100/1
            Carolina Panthers 125/1
            Chicago Bears 25/1
            Cincinnati Bengals 60/1
            Cleveland Browns 65/1
            Dallas Cowboys 16/1
            Denver Broncos 60/1
            Detroit Lions 40/1
            Green Bay Packers 7/1
            Houston Texans 35/1
            Indianapolis Colts 14/1
            Jacksonville Jaguars 65/1
            Kansas City Chiefs 35/1
            Miami Dolphins 50/1
            Minnesota Vikings 40/1
            New England Patriots 15/2
            New Orleans Saints 14/1
            New York Giants 18/1
            New York Jets 14/1
            Oakland Raiders 40/1
            Philadelphia Eagles 16/1
            Pittsburgh Steelers 10/1
            San Diego Chargers 12/1
            San Francisco 49ers 40/1
            Seattle Seahawks 80/1
            St. Louis Rams 40/1
            Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35/1
            Tennessee Titans 50/1
            Washington Redskins 50/1

Green Bay and New England are listed as the clear favorites.  Poor Bears.  They win the division, make it close in the NFC title game, and still they get no respect.

If I was going to lay a few $20 sucker bets on those odds I'd have to like the Chiefs and the Texans.  Possibly the Lions and Rams.  I could those 2 making the playoffs.

This is the first time I've ever heard of the Carolina Panthers, and I'm a fan already.

              Go Panthers!!

What the hand dare seize the fire?

                And DB...they were from Neenah.

Maybe that makes sense. Most of the sewer covers in my town were forged in Neenah, WI.

If it were only the fans (And I assure you that, in their everyday dealings, they are as neanderthalic as they appear on television).

But, the Yankees propaganda machine has even infiltrated traditionally reputable news sources.  Here is one of countless pieces of evidence.

If anyone has knowledge of the possible whereabouts of Steve Malkenson, please call your local law enforcement authority.  He was last seen taking a late lunch at about 1:10 p.m. He never returned.  Here is a recent photo.
