SwampStomper, Memphis TN. Sunday, 1/16. 50k (=32.6 miles). No real goal, perhaps other than to have fon and cover the distance. Without getting too muddy in the swamp.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
Not in Chicago
So there are flowers in this swamp, then?
You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

Ghost Town 38.5 in New Mexico on Sunday, Jan 16.
My original goal was to run it in 5 and a half hours, but I don't see that as likely. I've never run at elevation before, and the only time I've gone over 11 miles in the last 3+ months was when I ran the Boston Marathon course on New Year's Day. This wasn't quite the type of training I'd planned on having for the race.
So, my new goal is to finish in 6 to 6 and a half hours.
I've never run a race before that is basically straight up for the first 10 miles (about a mile in elevation to ~7k feet).

i'm not in as good of shape as i'd like to be. been fighting some nagging soreness and tightness in the quads and hip flexors, which forced me to take some time off. should be fun though.

The goal depends on the conditions. There will definitely be snow on the trails. I really have no idea. There are no flowers to pick this time of year, so let's go with this...
<1:55 and no walk breaks.

21.02. Fail. But a good race anyway.
Our waterfront races are tiny events - normally 80-150 people. This time 120. On the start line was a very tiny speedy looking girl, in the latest adidas kit, having just warmed up in a matching adidas tracksuit. Sure enough she ran nice and easily, staying with the top guys.
Turns out she is a member of the Adidas Boulder Running Company team, I assume just over here on holiday!

I almost forgot that I'd signed up for this race. I did it last year in 1:28:something, but think I'll be lucky to break 1:30:00 this year due to a lack of running (due to a 9 mo pregnant wife).
Goal of 1:30:00

I didn't see any rules forbidding sick runners from dragging an IV tube along with them, if needed.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
