From what I understand there are other races - marathons even - that aren't being run on April 16th. If you're participating in one of them, post it here.

Okay, I'll throw in. Running the Goldy's 10-Miler on 4/14 in Minneapolis. Goal = sub-1:00.
Tempo-Sunday coming up.
Race: Zoo Zoom 10k
Goal: Sub-37
Notes: Going to hit that last mile with a baseball bat.
Hope it's a good race, Don. I am pacing 1:35 for this one, so no race effort, but a nice little "yog". A few hills to deal with around campus...
"I aim to misbehave."
Yeah I raced this one last year too. It's kind of a deceiving tough course with one big hurty hill coming up from the river to get back to campus (around 7 miles into the race), then some rollers around campus after you cross the bridge over the river. Somehow I pulled a 58:XX time out of my ass on that one last year but with the effort at Daws on Saturday I don't think I can recover in time to do better than that.
Beers after the race?

There's life before ... and after April 16th?

Yeah... I know that hill from Minneapolis full and half. Plus I run it a lot in training. Methinks I might lose some people from my group coming up that one.
We are refinishing hardwood floors this weekend (starting Thursday AM) so I will be heading straight back home to get the next coat of finish on after the race. So... no post race beers this time.
The Logic of Long Distance
I'm in for Goldy's 10-Miler too. Goal, goal, goal...holy crap I'm so out of the racing zone. A handy dandy running calculator based on my Human Race says I should be able to run 1:07-1:08. Alrightie then, only one way to find out if I can pull it off...See you at the race Don!

"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run."

5K. I'll try to break 18
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
What's April 16th - Are you getting married or something?

Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.
