Can I do it? (Read 179 times)

I just found out there's going to be a once in a lifetime unique marathon on 14 June. One of our Dutch cities will have town priviliges for 750 years and is celebrating the weekend of 14 June. Especially for the occassion, they're organising a marathon which will lead you thru the highlights of the city normally not accessible to runners, like the zoo, the old train station (running stairs too), military exercise terrain, the historic train factory, the historic fire station, etc. I had planned a half mary for that particular weekend and will switch it to this race anyway, but running the half I'll miss out on a couple of these unique locations on the course. Given my recent foot problems and therefore my lack of training in the past 3 months (weekly low mileage), you think I can manage to be ready without getting injured again? Given the time, I'm looking to enjoy and finish Confused ETA: spelling

    Imminent Catastrophe

You should be fine, looks like you're doing 15-20 mile weeks now. That's a fine base, with 5 months to go. Go for it!

yep, why? You wanna come over? http://www.marathonamersfoort.nl/ I'm not sure if this link gets you to the english version of the site immediately, but otherwise at the top, on the right there's a button: english+register. The Dutch version of the site gives more info then the english version though.
