I am spaniel - Crusher of Treadmills
I can't decide between the somewhat hilly 30K and the somewhat flat 20 miler...
I've run em both already in past years.

What happened to the crusty dick?
I decided to give up on ultras and I had not paid to have my dick crusty yet.
I already paid for Clinton Lakes and Boston. After that I plan on all short local stuff, with the furthest drive being DWD to camp and do the 10k.
This will be very hard for me to execute as I love running long, but I believe my body needs a season of less miles and less punishment. When I did not get into WS100 and then was too slow for IA50 ... it got me thinking that I should take one last crack at all my shorter PRs. Primarly
5k 17:51
5M 29:07
10K 35:46
With a possible (But not likely) crack at
15k 56:19
10M 1:01:57
1/2M 1:21:24
My plan is to run 4000 miles give or take this year and try to run my speed workouts much more fresh and take more time to recover. I will spend much more time doing other activities (Volleyball, Tennis, Boating, Skiing (Water and Downhill and CC Snow), racquetball, snowshoing, golf, weightlifting and whatever else I feel like)
At 43, soon to be 44 I do not have many chances to set short distance PRs left ... Plus my body just wants to have fun.

Running a mid-March marathon and hoping to take a shot at sub-3 (which means PR).
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
You're definitely putting in the work to have a really, really good shot. Keep it going. One thing: I ain't seeing you in any of the racing threads yet. If it were me, I'd want at least one race of 10K to 1/2Mar before then that givesme some confidence that I can achieve that big of a PR and to break up the monotony of all that boring fucking marathon training. Wishing best training and weather for your Sub-3 race. Got a race picked out yet?

OK, I'm doing neither.
Instead, I'm going to run the New Bedford Half Marathon on the 17th. I hear it's a good race so I hope to make another go at a PR.
