Having snow and ice and mud and sand cake up so much on your seat tube that it rubs on your rear tire makes it really hard to pedal! And once I stopped and hung the bike up on my little cleaning stand, the whole drivetrain froze solid almost instantly. I have to go out and check and see if my little fan heater aimed at the crankset has removed the ice from the granny gear - I couldn't even see that it was there, and couldn't reach it to chip the ice off.
At least I was outside, though. The big bright thing was out in the sky again.

You have got to be kidding me!!
Good for you for at least getting a ride in. I don't think I could muster that much motivation unless I made some weird mission out of it. Now I know I a wimp when I sometimes wait for the road to dry.

Even that is a little more dedication than I've got.
Of course all I have is a road bike.
I have a friend that is trying to get me to go fixed for the winter. maybe next year.

I have never seen anything like that!!!
That is unreal. I guess the bottle was a block of ice.
I sent the link to a few Mtn bike buddies.

Actually, it wasn't that cold - hovering right around freezing. I think it was just mud plus loose ice and snow clotting up around the seat tube. The water was just good and cold.
I gotta get a water bottle with a lid that keeps the muck off of the spout...

Did,
What I want to know is, how come there are no pictures of you also??
Did you do a before and after weight?
Looks to me like you gained at least 10 lbs
Now I know why your wife is such a hard core runner, she's just trying to keep up with you
