hi and welcome holo,

i'm glad i started this group also. I'm not usually the type of person that starts up these types of discussion groups, preferring to contribute occasionally, but i thought what the heck. I am planning to do the Great Aloha Run also but forgot to sign up. So i'll probably have to pay extra. Maybe i'll see you down there.

What's up guys! Pretty new to the site, started running again at the beginning of the year. I'm here for the next couple years and want to ensure to get the Honolulu Marathon done before I leave!!


anyone doing the Aloha run??? I'll be there!

hi mike,

i was planning on racing it but forgot to sign up. I guess i'll decide if i want to shell out $45.00 to run it at the expo. I'm guessing not. I might save the money instead for late registration for the Big Island 10.8 mile race..or for the Ford Island 10K. Are you planning on doing that one ? I did that last year, good run.

I'm doing the Aloha Run. I think DH is doing the 10m Big Island race and my DD is doing the 5K, so I'll be down there running after my 2 boys. When is the Ford island race?

Here's a great race calendar I use:

The bridge run is on April 5, 2008 at 7 AM I think...

I think i'll do that one as a tune up race. I'm looking to do the Pineapple Run 10K as my target race.

I happen to be going to Oahu in August and unfortunately I have no idea on where to do runs except on Waikiki (where I'm staying) or on Diamond Head, but even then I've only been on Diamond Head for the tour... Any suggestions for runs and for places to do workouts (parks?) Thanks.

Check out the Running Room's web site @ http://www.runningroomhawaii.com/ - They have a few route maps listed. Or better, visit the store, talk story, and ask about routes.

You can't go wrong doing Kapiolani Park + Diamond Head, even extending into Kahala or looping through Kaimuki... which will take you past several good restaurants and a crack seed store... oh there I go again about the food.
