Carrot Greens (Read 379 times)

Are carrot greens useful for anything?  I put some in a stock with a bunch of other stuff today, but it seems like they should have some other use.

Great ideas! Up to now I have made compost with them.

I also recently discovered that I can stir fry radish green with lots of garlic and a little hot sauce, vinegar, and soy sauce. It is a *very* quick stir fry - about 60 sec. They were fine - but I guess anything with enough garlic is tasty.

I run to clear my head and talk to my friends.

Carrot greens are a lot more tender and fragile than the greens from other root veggies.  That recipe for radish greens sounds great!  But I would not expect carrot greens to stand up to that treatment.

Thanks for the ideas!  I chewed a few up and they're really bitter.  Bitter doesn't bother me much though.  I learned all about and made schwenkbraten and kassler rippchen today.  Working on my basketball shaped gut.
