A couple of drunken runs (Read 102 times)

No more marathons

Ha, check out my log and the maps for Aug 30 and 31.  The buildings in NYC sure play havoc with the garmin.  The run on the 30th was straight up 5th and after a loop thru the park straight down 6th.  And the run on the 31st was river to river on 40th and 42nd.  Garmin gave me a drunken stumble on both.

    Love the Half

There's a bridge I cross on some of my runs and Garmin always plunges me immediately from the bridge to the base level from the river and then magically springs me up on the other side.

      Short term goal: 17:59 5K

      Mid term goal:  2:54:59 marathon

Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life.  (I started running at age 45).

A drunken stumble is a good description of that map. lol   My 910 did some really wacky stuff with my husband's last open water swim.   Drunk swimming- not a good idea.

That's interesting.  In June I found myself in San Francisco and ran from Ft. Mason over the Golden Gate Bridge and back.  Below please find the elevation profile from the run.

The climb up to the foot of San Francisco side of the bridge starts at mile 3, and I turned around at the Marin side at about mile 5.5.  I thought I might just stay at sea level while on the bridge, but my Garmin figured it out.
