April Goals? (Read 106 times)

Mostly harmless

LOL!  I totally understand.  I really don't know how it doesn't occur to people that maybe you've heard that a million times already.

Like "I am your father"...jesus dude, really?  hang yourself.

/cynicism off - back to the topic

If I hear "Beam me up Scotty" one more time....

Complete my first half marathon in 1:55:00 or less!

Starting today is two weeks of taper for me (but with a 3x1600m @ 5k pace run next Thursday, which is the one workout I hate the most at the end of a looong training cycle... :-( )

I have been going back and forth regarding my goal for Boston. I have a grand goal for 2013, but my coach doesn't think I'm there yet. So I think I'll do like LTH and just enjoy Boston as a celebration of running in general. I got in the Chicago marathon (received confirmation today!) and I think I'll make that my goal race for the year 2013. After Boston, I have one, possibly two, more marathon(s), so it will be a quick recovery and back to a lighter training schedule.

Nice. Forget that 3 week taper BS. (My taper is 10 days, which is actually long for me).

and my April goal ? Don't embarrass myself in Boston.

Slow and steady never wins anything.

OK, I don't mean to hijack the goals thread, but is 3 weeks no good? Or is it still the right thing to do for some of us novices?

Try not to freak out that it's less than a month away from my first full marathon.

Try not to back out of said full marathon.

Get out on the bike again.
