LOL. I consider my Mizunos the most beautiful shoes ever.

That could be true for you, the models I have looked at left something to be desired.

If they would just clean up the colors (at least from my standpoint) they would completely dominate the market, but I think having a different look is kind of their thing because it proves that if you make a superior product people will buy and wear it regardless of what it looks like....speaking of grammar police, that was a long ass sentence.  lol  Sorry Jack!

I think that's what Mizuno fans like. One thing I dislike about Adidas and Asics is how boring they look.

Boring?  You don't like my bright and colorful 'clown shoes" ASICS?

For what it's worth my favorite shoes are New Balance, though I am quickly becoming attached to my Newtons.

I've noticed that the more my brain has gotten tuned to computer programming that the less it works for language stuff. For reals. I am able to notice when I have an impairment - like when I had signs of hypothermia after my first marathon.

It's probably why I type like a moron half the time on here, because I'm just thinking more and more like a computer. Smile

+1. I recently decided to do trails more often as an excuse to buy the new Mizuno trail offering. Off to hit the purchase button!

Ended up with 1ish miles with hubby.  His shins hurt and since we stayed watching the Argentina match, we only went out just now.  For a day where I worked more than ever, I think a martini will do better.

                        Mmmmm...beer

                          Hey everyone!

Had a great time at my club's summer series last night.  I was waiting around for the clock to countdown to around 32 minutes (I was going to keep it easy), and then I saw that people were going out early to do more than four miles.  So I looked at the clock and there were 46 minutes left, and I said to myself, "Self, go do six miles!".  So I took off and started to do the math trying to figure out what pace I needed to keep to do six miles (I suck at math while running), but I was able to figure it out, 7:40s would get me there, totally doable.  Except for the fact that it was in the mid 90s and the dewpoint was in the mid 70s.  I did the first two miles @ 7:40 and decided that I wasn't having very much fun on this "fun run".  So I stopped to get some water, chatted with a couple of friends for a bit, and then went back out with them to do two more miles easy, that was a lot more fun.  Wrapped it up with pizza and some good craft beer, some local pale ale.

Did 7 miles this evening in a thunderstorm, great run, I love running in the rain!

I'm waiting to hear back from the RD of a trail half that's taking place this weekend.  I wanted to run it, but didn't sign up because I had an overseas work trip scheduled, then my trip got canceled, but by that time the race had already sold out (only 150 people allowed).  I talked to him at the summer series last night and he's going to see if he can squeeze me in.  $25 for a trail half, no medals, but you get a shirt and a kickass post race party with beer and catered food.  If he can't get me into the race, I'm gonna go volunteer at one of the aid stations and then enjoy the post race party.

Congrats on the tri Beth!  That is just awesome!

As far as shoes go, I'm a die hard Saucony fan, I tried NB once, didn't like 'em, and haven't ventured out into any other brands since.  Absolutely love my Virratas, and Kinvaras.  I want to race more, just so I can wear my Type A5 flats more (and so I can wear them out and justify getting another pair! lol).  I wear Cortanas for my long runs and feel like I could run all day in those, altho I've also worn Kinvaras up to 21 miles, and ran my marathon in Virratas with no issues.

Hope everyone has had a great day!

Up until now all my the shoes I've owned had  were of similar quality. 3 pairs of Asic Gel Cumulus (12s, 13s and 14s). Got between 500-600 miles out of them. I have 2 pairs of Mizuno Wave Riders 16s in my rotation right now with well over 500 miles on both of them. I expect them to outlast the Cumulus I've owned. I have a pair of Mizuno Wave Sayonaras, with 300 miles on them, still new.

I like the Wave Riders 16s so much, I have two brand new pairs in their boxes since the 17s are out, the 16s were on sale Smile

Then I wanted to try something new, so I bought a pair of NB 890V4. They look great, they felt great on my feet. I'm an underpronator and it is bad for those NB shoes. They have about 200 miles on them and their outsoles show signs of wear much greater than all my other shoes at 500-600 miles. I thought running shoes' outsoles were all about the same, but they are not. Far from it.

ETA: Sorry grammar police. I try to write good English, but I'm somewhat limited in Shakespeare's tongue.
