Happy Easter Penguins! (Read 19 times)

on my way to badass

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

And again I am the first one up.

5 miles yesterday and I felt good.  The secret is 2 glasses of wine and a fish fry including fries for dinner the night before.  Today, after a glass of scotch last night, an easy 3 (after church).

Morning all. Going to try to get 6 between the raindrops, but getting hit by a few wont be to bad.

          From the Internet.

Morning pens! Rest day, heading out to stuff my face at a family Easter brunch in a few. Really wanted to run but being good and waiting until tomorrow - shins are still cooperating so hopefully I'll be back to consecutive days by the end of this week or beginning of next!

Rest day here, aside from walking the dog.  We're driving south to spend Easter afternoon with the family.  I was really stiff and sore last night, but this morning I feel fine.  Hurray!  Tomorrow I should be able to run.

Morning!  Not too much going on here.  DD still wanted an Easter basket, so she has a few things.  Brunch at the in-laws' later, and hopefully 6 miles this afternoon.

I found a half marathon that will be in the city where I'm staying when I'm in Costa Rica.  It looks like a weekend that I'd have a good chance to be available, too.

Happy Easter, Pens. SRD and lunch at my parents' later. I just peeled 25 sweet potatoes and DW is making a great dish with them. Yummy!

Put a few on the hamster wheel & did the last one at a good tick. (ouch!)

Had to lube the treadmill deck/belt & noticed there's some weird cracking/delamination going on with the deck, so either gonna flip it (I think it's a weird shape so I might not be able to) or I am VERY fortunate to have rec'd a replacement deck years ago when Sole thought I needed one under warranty & it turned out it was only a loose bolt.

Anywho.....off to the sister's after church to consume all kinds of deliciousness!

Rest day today.  So instead of running I was trying to plan my summer travels.  I was looking at airfare to Paris from NYC and it is 1500 RT (per person) to go in July.  Looks like that's not happening :/  Maybe a more local vacation is in the works for this summer.

                      Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

I jsut got mine in February. How long before I have to lubricate the deck?  I am a noob at this.
