Never in my life did I think that this would be possible, sure I fantasized about it, but not once have I honestly thought that I would win a trophy. I figured on mainly earning finisher's medals in my HMs, and possibly getting a trophy or something in my 40s+, but not a 1st place. This is an awesome feeling, and I think I've been bitten by a bug. Maybe this race was a fluke, a freak of nature and I might never see another, but it couldn't hurt to try. It couldn't hurt to push myself, could it?

Awesome indeed.

Thanks you two. Honestly I think he was more into his movie than my trophy, he kept looking back at the screen.

Nice!
I've won 30 or so 1st place A/G races and several 1st, 2nd or 3rd place over-alls in the past few years, and have never gotten a trophy. Lots of ribbons, a few medals, but no trophy. And no cash! That's what I'd really like to win.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.
