Merry Christmas Penguins (Read 18 times)

PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

                Barking Mad To Run

Yesterday I went to Lackland Air Force Base for an easy 3-mile run, but was feeling really good so that turned into a 4-mile run/walk instead, nice!    The temp actually cooperated too, about 44 degrees and sunny, sunny, sunny, nice!

This morning Gail and I  got up and opened our gifts and then I went to the nearby local park to get in a run/walk.  Temp of 35 flippin' degrees, feels like 33, BRRR!   My plans for a morning run/walk turned out to be a bust as, for some reason, the park gate was closed, and there were a couple of police cars with lights on right inside the gate.  So I decided to just turn around and come on home and run later this afternoon in WARMER temps...the temp around here today is going up to a mild 62 degrees by 3 PM.  So now Gail and I are getting ready to go to a move, we are going to see "Unbroken."

Hope everyone is having and will have a fabulous Christmas day!

                    Marry Christmas, Pens. Smile

Remember when we were kids and on Christmas morning we were up at the crack of dawn or earlier? My kids are still sawing logs. I ran 5 miles, raked some leaves, and now I'm doing this. Kids these days! JEESH! Later, we are going down to Orange County to see my SIL and her family. The cousins are looking forward to it.

                    Have a nice, quiet day.

Received a penguin light cover as a gift and had to tell them about you, my running e-buddies. :-D

Ran 4ish this evening with DH once we got back home to NYC.  Our dog is staying with my mom through New Year's because we are heading down to New Orleans to escape NYC for a few days.  I was going to say "to escape the cold" but this is the warmest Christmas I can remember.
