We got home from running some errands about town and this guy was sunning himself in the front yard. He was a bit over four feet long, just a harmless gopher snake. We got him and let him go off a trail by our house. Pretty cool!
Snakes are cool and don't bother me a bit.

I don't know my snakes well enough to pick them up with that kind of confidence. You could tell me that was a deadly snake, and I'd believe you.

Awesome! We get gopher snakes down on the river trail sometimes. They freak the dogs out when they're up and trying to be scary, otherwise the dogs run right over them and don't even notice.
You should have laid out with it and shared a beer.

Very cool. Never seen one of those guys. You must be on the west coast.
I can never remember if it kills Jack or is a friend of a fellow or whatever. Just leave the snakes alone and you don't have to remember the rhyme.
I did encounter a coral snake in Belize one time. Beautiful little thing.

Mmmmm...beer
Nice find, love snakes. My stepdad is deathly afraid of them. When I was in high school I caught a black rat snake about that same size, he screamed like a little girl when I brought it into the house, it was hilarious.

Ewww. {shudder}.
Around the age of 10, I lost a small snake in the basement of our home...well more like he got away. When I saw that sucker again about a year later, he was seemingly as big as a python and scared the living shit outta me!
Two of my friends came over and got him out because I would not touch him lol!
Snakes are OK in their natural habitat. We've had a few black snakes in the house over the years, which make me cringe. DH just picks them up and carries them back outside. They're OK in the yard where they belong.
I have a little fuzzy friend for you in my DS's room. A tarantula. I know how much you love spiders too.
Snakes? No thank you. Yuck, yuck, yuck...
