    CoolWELCOME TO THE DAILIES THREAD!Cool

Anyone and everyone can post your runs, cross-training, abdominal work, rest days, race plans, training questions, etc.. The only stupid question is the one you did not post. There’s a great mix of beginners and veterans, runners and walkers, and maniacs and returners, from injury to running. We're all a little crazy here, too! While this thread is a terrific source of motivation for runners and serves as outstanding accountability, you’ll quickly find this remarkable group to be highly supportive of all life experiences. So, come on in, put your feet up, and stay a while (not literally)! And whoever is up first is welcome to start the thread and we definitely keep some weird hours here.

It got COLD here overnight. Weather.com had predicted 32* when I was laying out my clothes last night, but it was actually 27* when I stepped out the door. A LS tech shirt and lightweight tights weren't quite enough, even with gloves. What was supposed to be 9 miles got cut short to 4.4, followed by attempting to do my stretching under a blanket.

I have a strength training class later, and I'll make up today's run tomorrow. In the daylight, when it might be a tad warmer, or I will at least dress a bit more warmly.

It is 38 degrees here and I was bumming that I could not run in it.  Then I remembered that had I run my marathon, I would not be running the entire week regardless of the weather, ha!

Hello now and good morning!  Speaking of weather, it looks like this will be our last "warm" day for a while.  Mid-60's today, then the temps will drop into the low 50's for at least the next week.  GOOD.  I've been waiting for that.

I was tired and groggy this morning, but I seem to be coming around now.  Big grin  Easy run planned after work.  And a haircut.

            Morning Shari and LRB!

Another day of workin' for the man.  It's a short week though.  I will be off Thursday afternoon and Friday for a wake/funeral.  My mom's cousin died at 51 from a brain aneurysm.  Had a headache, passed out and never woke up.  Scary stuff.    I was not super close to that side of the family, but my mom obviously was.

I did some PT exercises last night just to say I did something.  Nothing too strenuous, though I did feel a little woozy when I was done.   Huh.

              Happy Tuesday, Friends!

It’s perfect running weather here this morning, but I didn’t see any runners out when I was driving to work.   That seemed odd to me.   I would have been out for sure….

Shari – Thanks for starting us off this morning!   Have you thawed out yet?    That sure sounded like a cold run for you!   Way to get out there despite the temperature!

LRB – What’s up?   How are you this fine morning?   How are you healing?   Is there a prospective date for your inaugural run after injury?

Phil – Sounds like you’re about to get some lovely weather.  Enjoy!   Perhaps today needs to be a 2 cups of coffee kind of day…..

Oski – I’m sorry for your family’s loss.   It’s good of you to be there for your Mom even if you weren’t particularly close to her cousin.   Did the cardio check your major arteries and veins or just your heart?   I’m wondering if you could be having issues with an artery or vein that’s significantly clogged…..   Please take care of yourself

I met with the new doctor yesterday.   I liked him very much and he is definitely willing to do the procedure but then to let my cardio doctor do all the follow up.   I’m scheduled for the cryo-balloon ablation next Monday morning.   It will start around 8 and take about 4 hours.    I’ll have to stay overnight and take it easy for the rest of next week, but then I can do whatever my foot and ankle doctor will allow (if anything).   He said that it could take from 4 – 6 weeks in order to see the full benefits of the procedure, but that I should notice at least a little improvement right away.   Now, I’m on a countdown until Monday – so close and yet so far away!

Have a Pinksational day!   And, may your next run leave you feeling strong both mentally and physically!

Sorry to hear that Sad That's scary. did you get blood work done by the way? I think the next step for you might be an EN&T specialist, you may have some kind of inner ear problem.

Nice here, 48 and sunny. Trying to figure out where I want to run...

                Barking Mad To Run

Dang, Step, 27!  And I thought it was cold when I got up this morning in South Texas, we are all the way down to 48!  Joking  Well, considering our usual warm temps, that is cold for we South Texans.  Yeah, we're cold-weather wimps!   Sorry you had to cut your run short!  And the only way to do any decent stretching under a blanket is with your significant other. Wink  Enjoy your strength training class!

Et tu, LRB, with the cold weather already?  You must have some really intense winters!

Your weather sounds like ours, Baboon.  50s all this week in the mornings, and nice 60s and 70s for our highs. Like you, I plan an easy run after work, enjoy the nice temps and sunshine and low dew point.

Very sorry to hear about your 2nd cousin, Oski! Those aneurysms can be scary!  I had (have) one near my optic nerve that was coiled. Congrats on doing some PT, but take it easy, don't push too much and get yourself in a bind.  We want to keep you around for a long while! Big grin  And what lilac said....get checked thoroughly!   You might even consider getting checked for an aneurysm yourself to rule it out....some aneurysms can be hereditary, according to certain research and theories.

Glad you like the new doctor, Sarah.  And good luck with everything you have coming up!  Good vibes, good thoughts, best wishes coming your way for a positive outcome for everything!

Morning!  It was 80F at 5am, so suck it, people!  7 miles with 2 @ MP done this morning.

Shari, I am jealous of your weather.

                    LRB, ditto.

                    Baboon, 60F is warm?

Oski, sorry to hear about your mom's cousin.  I second Lilac's suggestion.  Maybe you have some vertigo or inner eat issues?  I know a fellow forumite that had been dealing with migraines but was getting dizzy and passing out and in the end, the doctor found some inner ear infection that was affecting her vision.

Sarah, wishing you well with the procedure.

                    lilac, run!!!!

                    Scotty, morning.

Happy October 22nd!   On 'this day in history' Xerox introduced the copy machine in 1938.   Copy that!

                      Today's Holidays:

National Nut Day - No, no, don't catch your relative who's been acting strangely and take him/her for an exam.  This is the FOOD kind of nut. So enjoy a handful of your favorite type of nut today, most of which can be quite healthy for you.

Medical Assistant Recognition Day - Time to recognize those folks behind the doctors and nurses who help keep things running smoothly!  Medical assistants are primarily administrative and clinical folks who do a variety of tasks for the medical practice they work for, such as

using computer applications, updating and filing patient medical records, scheduling appointments, taking medical histories, preparing patients for exam, collecting and preparing lab specimens, explaining policies and procedures, and so forth.

International Stutter Awareness Day - The day is intended to raise public awareness of the millions of people – one per cent of the world's population who have the speech disorder of stuttering, also known as stammering.

                          Go figure

Morning dailies!  Looks like another 5-6 on tap for me today, probably later in the evening when I have some time.  I'll run these on my own so I can see what my easy pace is actually at right now.  I'm pacing a half marathon this weekend, so I have to accelerate my recovery a bit.  Fortunately, I won't be pacing the 1:30 group, so it should be okay.

Step..Yikes, that is cold!  It's so hard to adjust to changing temps.  One of these days I'm going to follow through and make a chart of what I wear in given conditions.  Good luck with the strength class and getting those extra miles made up tomorrow.

LRB...So in my absence, I totally missed that you are not running.  What the heck happened?  Hope you're well into the mending phase.

Oski...Oh, I was all excited for you that you were going to have a long weekend, but it's pretty hard to be excited about when that's the reason.  Sorry for your family's loss.  Good work on the PT.

Pink...Glad you felt comfortable with your doc - that makes a huge difference.  I hope the wait until Monday isn't too agonizing!

Lilac...Enjoy your run in the nice weather.

Scotty...Wow, who would have guessed Xerox has been around for that long!

Trying to find some more hay to restock the barn

                            Dad on the run.

Hey all, got out lastnight and did a 35min run @ 9:39m/m with a 5 min cool down. Covered 4 miles. Will do the same run tonight but possibly a little slower, IT Band started hurting a bit after about mile 3 :/ ugg. I can't wait to get back to running pain free!

Pink - That's exciting about the procedure! I'm sure your super nervous but at least once its over you can get back to doing what you love! Praying everything goes absolutely perfect!

Run to live; live to run

10.1. I rarely have bad runs. Today was one of them. Sleep wasn't great since one of the pups was sick and dh got home at 2 am from a fire investigation. He is NOT quiet when he comes home. Banging around the house. I told him that, and he agrees he is far from quiet.
