Return To Racing

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here.

Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the caommon benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."

It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

    Return To Racing

Happy Thanksgiving Eve.  Travel safely.  I won't be going anywhere farther than I can run.

Ordered a $200 Running Warehouse gift card with a free $50 card.  UPS delivered it yesterday, but not to my house.  Hope they replace it soon.

Looks like a chilly run after work with a high of 20 today.  I need a handwarmer.

Jerry, thanks for the start. Have you tried the Hot Hands? They work great sitting in the tree stand, and although I've never used them running, I'm sure they would work fine. Seems like I read here somewhere that somebody uses them.

I did 5 miles last night, Bella went the whole way, her 1st 5 miler! When we got home, I noticed some blood on the floor, she got a very small cut on one of her pads, I was able to doctor her up and get it to stop by applying pressure to it. She was just fine this morning when I left for work.

It was like 38 degrees with feels like temp of 29, but with the wind howling, it seemed colder. I busted out the UA tights for the first time. Tonight's run will be cold too, Bella gets a RD, so I'll hope to get 7-8.

Morning!  T25 and a short run tonight.  My office is open on Friday so to me it's just a Wednesday.  I might take the day off though.

Hello penguins! I took yesterday off, after we got out of the Dr office we decided to go eat and didn't get home until pretty late. That mean today will be gym then run after work. Also I ordered my some cushioned trainers and hope that they help. Ordered a pair of nimbus 15s.

            Fear is a Liar

              Good Morning Penguins!

Jerry - sometimes in a bind or until you get something else, wool socks make great mittens!

Mitch - good luck on tonight's run

Damaris - I am one of the few working at my job. It will be a quiet easy day.

As for me - I guess you can say I wussed out yesterday. It was 33 degrees and raining al day and night. I would have gone out but I had no idea how to dress. I was thinking shorts just so tights or sweats wouldn't get soaked and weighed down. No running today either because right after work we are going over our neighbors for a Thanksgiving party. Looking forward to Thursday morning - it should be a really good run after 2 days rest!

I'm so vegetarian I don't even eat animal crackers!

                  Mitch, hope belle heal up.

Damaris, enjoy the short run later.

Jimmy, you seem to be buying shoes a lot haa

Easy 6 done. Thinking of waking up at 5+ to let the body get used to the hour. Still pondering though.

                      Hello all.

My legs feel almost like normal today. I am going to run about 3 very easy miles tonight. Tomorrow morning I head out MIL's house for Thanksgiving. This will be my only run of the week. I need the rest though after running 40 miles last week.

Jerry - I hope you can get those $250 worth of gift cards soon. Enjoy the run.

Mitch - Enjoy the run and I think Bella earned the rest day.

Damaris - Have a good run. I thought you government people were always on holiday. I guess not. Wink

jblack - I wear Nimbus and love them. I went from running 20 MPW to be able to run mid-30s after switching from Vomeros to Nimbus. I hope they work for you.

Gustuv - I can't stand running in a cold, rain. I wouldn't have run either.

                        Bin - Good run.

Have a great day everyone and enjoy your holiday.

Dan - I hope they do to. I'm tired of going out for a run and wondering "what's going to hurt today"

13 miles done in the cold rain. Gloves would have been a good idea. Hopefully I'll regain the use of my hands in time for Thanksgiving dinner, otherwise someone is going to have to feed me.  Smile
