    Barking Mad To Run

LOVELY after-work run/walk for me yesterday.  First some rain came in as I was driving to the park where I was going to run.  The rain stopped when I got to the park, but we must have been in some kind of 'vortex'....because the temp then dropped from 97 degrees to 77 degrees...and stayed like that for my whole run/walk.  SWEEEET!  20 degree drop in temp, low humidity, low dew-point.  The 70s stuck around for most of the night too.   I ended up with 4 miles on off-road trails.  At 4:30 PM there were very few people in the park - I met only 1 cyclist on my entire route - so I kinda felt like I was "KING OF THE PARK", lol, enjoying my own private domain.

Today is my "Thriday."    My university has a football game tonite - we are playing the Arizona Wildcats and the game will be nationally televised.  Gail and I have season tickets, so off to the game we go.  I will be getting off work early today to do a little bit of tail-gating and then enjoy the came.  This is our first home game - after we beat U. of Houston on the road last week, 27 - 7, they sure were surprised! - and we are trying to have an "Orange Out" and pack the stadium with at least 40,000 fans all in orange shirts (our team colors are orange/blue/white).  Don't know if we can beat Arizona, they are a darn good team, and this is only our 4th year of having a football team, so they have quite a lot of experience over us - but regardless of what happens, should be a fun night.  The game will probably run late, so my boss kindly gave me tomorrow off, so I could enjoy the tail-gating, etc., and then 'recover' tomorrow.

Hilarious!  And ironic too that I had one of my infamous sleepless spells and have been up since 3:30!

Just got back from an 8 miler where I chased and/or hooted at about a half dozen friends and coworkers.  lol

        Off to shower!

Hey there, little fellas!  Sounds like a fun run you had there, Scotty!  Got to love some unexpectedly nice running conditions.  Have fun at the game tonight.  I'll look for you on ESPN.  Big grin

My legs are a little tired after my double yesterday.  I ended up with a total of 12 miles at 7:43 avg pace.  A good day of work.  Easy run planned this afternoon.

Morning!  Man, LRB sure was slacking!

I have 10 miles with 6 at MP tonight. I had to come to court this morning so I was unable to work from home and run before that.  Hoping the weather stays as is, cloudy with a chance of hot and humid but not fucking hot and humid.

I come with a heavy heart today.  My dog passed away on Monday after 15 wonderful years.  She was eating and active until the very night before when her breathing became labored.  She died quickly and quietly the following morning.  She was on her own bed and in our arms when she drew her last breath.   I feel so grateful that she had a long life and that she died in her own home of natural causes.   I miss her so terribly though and I can't seem to stop crying.  She was such an extraordinary dog.  I'll probably be off the forums again for awhile, but wanted to let you know what happened.

              Life is good.

so sorry to hear that, but I am also happy that she was able to pass inside her home with her family, it is much more peaceful that way than to go into a cold, bright room. I've seen it both ways, and I feel so much better that my girl had passed inside our home, but unfortunately she was so determined to wait until we fell asleep before she finally took her last breath. She didn't want me to see her that way .

Rocky got out for his first run in over 2 weeks this morning,  he was very happy to be out there even though it was still pretty humid but only 69 degrees and we only run 4 miles so not bad.

Very sorry to hear about your pooch, ootb.  Sad  It really does hurt when you lose a dog.  It's been a year and half since my Jewell died and I am still not over it.

Ate something wrong at lunch yesterday, felt like crap and hoped to be better to run later.  Wasn't so damn... USRD... Missed a 10 easy.  Blah... Iron stomach...

About to head out for 11 easy, I think everything is in order.

Ootb, sending sad hugs your way!  We lost Hope four years ago, and I still miss her like crazy.

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

I ended out doing a double yesterday so I could take a rest day today. 4 miles last night at a 7:28 pace. It was 92 degrees so I wanted to get it over with quickly.
