Short version:
I ran a 5k. It sucked. The end.
Long version:
5:49
6:07
7:53 for last 1.1 (6:52 average)
Total - 19:49
It wasn't my slowest time, but by far my worst race ever. Amazingly, only 2 people passed me and I took first in my AG. Now I'm off to start a thread about hitting the wall in my 5k.
Edited to add my time. Also, you can check my pics here:

First in AG! Well that's not too shabby As far as your splits, they remind me of my first mile attempt!

I had two miles like your last 1.1 miles once, not a good way to finish a race!
What are your thoughts on the Vegas event? Course, organization, weather etc?
Mmmmm...beer
Congrats on the bling, sorry about the fade.

Dude, what happened? I wish my lousy 5K's came in at sub-20.

I know nothing about 5ks but your finish time looks great to me. But I'm sorry it wasn't good compared to your past finish times. It's your first race in a while, isn't it? Probably very normal that you ran like that. Your next races will be much better, you'll see. One last comment: do all men of shit-mix origin look as handsome as you? (and did what I just say racist? Or sexist? Whatever... You looked great out there. )

Nice pics. Funny. I had a 5K this weekend and it sucked too. There must be something in the air.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

It will happen.
I can say, it is a strange thought to realize how badly you performed and see a number that was unattainable just a year ago in the best conditions.

Part of your fade is that you had no booty to follow after mile 1. I am sure in a larger race, or one with more wimenz you would run faster at the end. Clearly you need to alter your speedwork so that you follow the right rabbits! Glad there were no shoulder check spits or snot rockets to dodge, one of the advantages of a Vegas run. Next time run the water stop in mile 3, don't walk it.
