@runjerseygirl

My typical genre of choice is hard rock/heavy metal, but I secretly love Bruno Mars.

I could listen to his voice all day!

What's your unlikely favorite (meaning, an artist/band that doesn't fall into your usual playlist).

    Do you even run?

I typically listen to hip hop/top 40, but the bf has had be listening to dub step/ish kinda stuff. I'm not sure if it's growing on me or if he's just hot and I'm a push over. Smile

I like classic and alternative rock the best, but my secret love is Outlaw Country on SiriusXM channel 60.  I've downloaded a bunch of songs I've heard on that channel.

Of course, you can never go wrong with hits of the 80's.  Wink

Matt, maybe my Mother had a child she didn't tell us about and you were adopted??

The only difference in my taste is that I prefer the "70's on 7" channel to the 80's, having been in high school

in the late 70's those songs bring back so many great memories and hey it was the time of "Grease", Kiss and

The BeeGee's were topping the charts at the same time.........how could you go wrong with that!!

            mad cow

I have a pretty eclectic mix to begin with, heavy on ska and indie, but I love bluegrass.  Oh, and a Flo Rida song has made its way onto my playlist too. Blush

You know, evil comes in many forms, be it a man-eating cow or Joseph Stalin. But you can't let the package hide the pudding. Evil is just plain bad. You don't cotton to it. You gotta smack it on the nose with the rolled up newspaper of goodness. Bad dog! Bad dog!

              Runs the streets

I grew up on a steady diet of the blues. It's just in me. Aside from that I listen to mostly music made prior to 1994. "Classic alternative", and late 80s, early 90s brit pop. However, I secretly and not so secretly have an affinity for some straight gangsta rap and an occassional dollop of what my husband refers to as (not in a good way) "miami ass booty bass"

                Go figure

Umm, pseudo indie/contemporary folk? Are those things? I like music that's pretty slow and just kinda melodic and upbeat. I'm not too embarrassed by any of my selections, but I do quite like Adele.

I listen to everything really, but mostly country.  Altho, my wife makes fun of me and says that I have a 12yo girl's ipod lol  I can't help it, I'm a sucker for catchy pop music.  Go ahead, make fun of the 6' tall tattooed guy that's jamming out to Kesha. Cool

Trance and Dance mainly for me, but I also love Alternative music too. I'm an 80's-90's girl, so anything from that era I can never pass up!

                      Running is my mental-Ctrl-Alt-Del.

                      Fear is a Liar

My "like" is actually 3 different types but they share a common style as they are all heavily backed with melodic guitar riffs. They are hard rock/heavy metal, old school southern rock, and finger pickin' bluegrass. To me bluegrass is red neck heavy metal. The style that doesn't fit are catchy dance songs like "Gangnam style" . I don't know why I like that stuff but I do.

I'm so vegetarian I don't even eat animal crackers!

I listen to newer country(isn't it just poppy twang anymore really?) but secretly love hip hop stuff like Rhianna and JayZ.

They really aren't as far apart as you think they are. At least, that is what I tell my schizophrenic self when I like Reba and then follow it up with an equally awesome Eminem songWink

I like everything.  Even country, which my Dad got me into years ago, but I tend to like the older, classic country ... Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Willie.

And I love my Sirius radio.  They got me hooked with three free months, and now I can't quit you, Sirius.

It is so nice to not have to listen the the same crappy pop songs over and over and over. And over.

I secretly love Reggae music.  I usually listen to alternative rock.
