Do you ever look at your overall mileage and go whoa? Today was one of those days. I hadn't been paying attention due to a log switch, but at some point I hit 10000 miles since I started running 5 years ago. Which is naturally cool and insane at the same time.
So what are you overall miles from the beginning of time? Cause I bet some of you have ever cooler numbers.
Middle Distance Runner
My coach suggested I keep a log when I first started running. Her program also awarded patches for reaching certain mileage milestones like 100 miles, 250 miles, 500 miles, 1000 miles for the year. As a result I've been tracking my mileage since 1968 for a current total of over 73,000 miles.

I don't keep track of my miles enough to know but, I'd guess I've run half that much and, yes, it's still mind boggling. Cool, but mind boggling nonetheless.
And George is definitely certifiable!

I've only tracked running mileage for a couple of years on RWOL, which I've moved here. Today I noticed I was at 999.2. I guess I should go run tomorrow.
I've been walking for about 10 years with my walking buddy. We try to average 100 miles/month, which we don't always make. I track it on Excel, and in November 2011, we hit 10,000. We went out to lunch to celebrate.
Congratulations, Lara! And George as well! So George, you've gone around the globe, what... twice or three times?
I have my yearly mileage marked in my 5 log books, but I'm too lazy to get them now. I started in Sept. 2007. I think I ran 2100 miles the first year. Then about 1900 the year of my stroke. Third year was about 2400. Fourth one about 2550 and this year will be about 2650. Too lazy to add that up. (hey, I just ran 13 miles tonight... give me a break )

That's about 11,600 miles or 18,665 km.
Congrats on the milestone CRL! I started tracking my mileage when I started to get more serious about running in 2007. So far I'm at 6560. I didn't run much before that - definitely less than 1000 miles.
Bad Ass
Congrats, Lara!!!!!!!
I never counted my mileage for the first 8 years of running, so now I have no idea how much I've run total.

That's an incredible milestone, Lara: congratulations! I've only been running since March, so my # is paltry in comparison!
