Early morning runners, how do you get out there? (Read 105 times)

Chasing the bus

My back is better in the morning. Not spending the first two miles with low back pain/cramps is a big motivator. Laying out the clothes and just not thinking helps too. It's possible the whey protein for breakfast is making a difference also.

Roll out of bed, walk to put running gear on in the next room.

The goal is to be running before my body really knows its woken up

I totally agree with this. I get up at 4 am and the absolute key is to not allow yourself to even think about it or you will ALWAYS talk yourself out of it.

I can't imagine not being a regular early morning runner when it hits the 80s, On weekends likes  yesterday I did some morning errands with my wife and ran near noon when it was in the high 70s. My run sucked but at least it wasnt a long one.
