November Goals! (Read 45 times)

LRB

However, I always get the feeling that doctors don't exactly know what is happening anyway.

It annoys me when one of my docs makes generalizations then apply them to me.  It makes me feel as if they haven't heard a single word I have said.

In their defense most of the people they see are in a bad way but still, recognize when someone is not.

    LRB

      A) Race a half marathon.

      B) Race a 5k.

      C) Drink. Smile

I have no idea what to expect at either event so the goal is simply to run my ass off as hard as that day's effort will allow and to have fun in the process, something I have earned after a long good season.

      A) Nope.

      B) Nope.

      C) Yep, and I have spent the past three days on the wagon because of it. lol

The half was three weeks out from Detroit and I decided the night before to just wait until spring to try to put a real dent in my time. Had it been four weeks out I probably would have done it.

Crap weather influenced my decision to not race either of the two 5k's I had penciled in and I am bumming about that but the speed work is back and coming along nicely in its stead.

        1)  Run the Philadelphia Marathon and run it well.

        Nothing else matters.

        Success!

It's my second-lowest mileage month since knee surgery but who gives a shit.

        Are we there, yet?

          1) Run injury free

          2) Return to normal mileage

          3) Maybe run a local 5K to see where my speed is

          1) Success, knee is not giving me any problems

          2) Pretty much there on average

          3) Nope, training for Jackpot had to take precedence

            Super B****

Same as October... run without pain again.  If I even remember what that feels like, which I don't.

              And a 5 mile PR on 11/27.

Sort of... still not rid of the injury, though it's not quite as bad as it was.  But I did get my PR.

              chasing the impossible
