race obsessed
12 done this morning @ 77F and 70 dew point (short run)
Due to a few hiccups during the week and less mileage on the 5k race day, I am short for the week by 4 mi. Its all good though, I don't imagine missing 4 easy miles in an 80 week will destroy my plan.
Have a great Sunday all.
10.44 done, any slower and I would have been going backwards.
The important thing is that 2 nights ago, I think there was a major breakthrough in my injury. While doing massage and contortions, something untightened dramatically. It felt like untensioning a guitar string, and I could feel the whole area pulsing.
So while there is still minor soreness in the area, it now feels like the kind of hurt that heals. Today's jog was slow and ugly, but it didn't accumulate pain.
Mmmmm...beer
Had one of the coolest experiences I've ever had at the beach today. A ray (stingray? not sure, I'll have to check to see what types we have in the bay), about 3 feet across, came right up to us and swam circles around us, close enough we could have touched it (but didn't). I've never seen one in the wild, much less had it swim right up to me.

3.87 more, still slow. Ran right up to a deer before it jumped into the brush.

Good. It's that time of the year where some of us have to tread lightly and not worry about carrying some stinking big stick. lol
That's great news, Jay! Take it easy in the next few days. Run, but not too fast if you can help it.

Hello all. A couple things to share.
1) DD got her first dog on the 4th of July. A 8 week old golden retriever mix.
2) A picture with Steph when I was in Boston in June on vacation.
Runningwise, I am doing good. I had my second longest run of the year yesterday at 8.6 miles and just finished my longest mileage week of the year at 27.75.

Yeah careful with the Rays, they are docile until they decide to stab you in the heart...
Hey Dan,
Nice pics!
