Big cutback week, do you ever take one? (Read 117 times)

Love the Half

Even though you train hard and have goals......you are not a professional runner.  When training / running become  too much of a chore, or life happens, you will miss some runs.  No biggie.

I would note that professional runners are keenly aware of the necessity of some down time.  It is only recreational runners who think a couple of weeks of very low mileage or even zero mileage per year will have this horribly negative impact on their fitness and I have been just as guilty of that as anyone else.

    Short term goal: 17:59 5K

    Mid term goal:  2:54:59 marathon

Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life.  (I started running at age 45).

Thanks, I just took 2 weeks off due to nagging pains and the mental strain. I was feeling guilty. I got back to it yesterday and now seeing this. I feel great.
